Thanks Kowalski !

The only surprise in the set list is "Sitting on the dock of the bay", and the two new tracks, but congrats to the tapers thumbs up

er...'Lady Jane' and 'I Wanna Be Your Man' arent a surprise?

Neither have been played since the mid 60s or before!

Yea, but the Stones have only been giving us 2 or 3 surprises every tour. How about some real substance? Granted its still early, but essentially its the same rehash lining up. This is the perfect opportunity to lay it all out. They have an entire catalog of songs from the 60's that can be played in 2 to 3 minutes each.

I'd love to see them perform two of the four shows dedicated to the most productive decades. One entirely to the 60's and one for the 70's. Now that would be something to talk about.

If I could pick 20 from this list for them to play, I'd pick:

1. Street Fighting Man
2. All Down The Line
3. Bitch
4. Doom & Gloom
5. Going To A Go Go
6. Dead Flowers
7. Lady Jane
8. Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay
9. Little Red Rooster
10. Happy
11. One More Shot
12. Not Fade Away
13. I Wanna Be Your Man
14. Route 66
15. She's So Cold
16. Respectable
17. When The Whip Comes Down
18. It's All Over Now
19. Paint It Black
20. The Last Time

Of course we all know there's going to be a few warhorses, so a more realistic setlist might be something more like this:

1. Street Fighting Man
2. Brown Sugar
3. Honky Tonk Women
4. Doom & Gloom
5. It's Only Rock 'N' Roll
6. Lady Jane
7. Bitch
8. Start Me Up
9. Tumbling Dice
10. Happy
11. One More Shot
12. Not Fade Away
13. I Wanna Be Your Man
14. Route 66
15. Jumping Jack Flash
16. Sympathy For The Devil
17. Paint It Black
18. It's All Over Now
19. Satisfaction
20. The Last Time

That would be a damn fine setlist in my humble opinion.

The Stones sound energized...the new song rocks...let's hope the vibe holds. Fantastic inside information. Thank you!

All things being equal that's not a bad assortment of songs rehearsed. We each have our favorites not there, but, they've rocked a nice assortment of Stones' tuneage.

48 different songs in 4 evenings of rehearsals, that's a lot.
That's even too much for 4 shows (30 would have been enough).
So i guess these rehearsals mean more shows to come.

No more rehearsals until 25/10 apparently as the boys are off to London. Still haven't been able to find out where they are rehearsing...south of Paris apparently, in a "barn" ?

Is it the same barn StonesTod was born in, and if so is he there to complain about the setlist?

The recordings sound like Keith is really driving the songs with the guitars. Doom and gloom especially. I hope this is a sign of things to come. As far as where they recorded--- for it to be the castle they would have to be CRANKED unbelievably LOUD to be recorded from one of those roads depending which building on the property.

Go Dawgs!

"Near paris" might mean La Plaine St-Denis where there are huge sound stages you can rent for a very decent amount of money (by Stones standards). You can move tons of musical gear unnoticed because you're among dozens of TV productions.

Sounds perfect for a stealthy band rehearsals plus you're 5kms away from the center of Paris which is good if you own a flat in the city... winking smiley

it wasn't a barn, it was a manger.

Well informed rock radio guy says it's in the 93 departement, so Seine St-Denis makes sense : [www.byzegut.fr]

I thought I was onto something when I spotted a studio/rehearsal spot calle "A la ferme", with farm=barn but I drove there yesterday and the place is closed!

Exactly who is at these rehearsals (besides the key 5)?
Chuck?
The horn section?
I know Bernard's not there.

They were rehearsing for at least a week - maybe almost two in fact - before any info from the rehearsals leaked out.

What about No Spare Parts and Following the River? Maybe FTR wouldn't sound good live...I don't know...It was the video that made it so excellent, IMO.

Normally they rehearse a lot more songs, which do not end up on the setlist. I don't think they will do Let it bleed, faraway eyes and Dead Flowers in one show.

That is probably hilariously accurate - next to nobody knows any of those songs except for a bunch of hippies and diehards, neither of which are seemingly going to these shows...

Can't blame them for trying to get them known, though. All of those songs are played a lot live, as well as being released on live albums and live DVDs...

Maybe this is a stupid question, but who's playing the bass, is it Wyman or Darryl?
