Okay, so, tonight’s the night! Liverpool hosting the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest!

Who’s going to win? Sweden?

The odds are favoring Sweden but I hope we will not win. Let some other country win - why not Great Britain? Or France?
I think the ESC is getting worse and worse. It used to actually have some class - but that is decades ago now...

The stage designs are very elaborate though - more advanced than anything The Rolling Stones have come up with...

I guess the Song Contest has a bigger budget.

Ha-ha! No, for a million reasons, it simply couldn’t happen. For starters, they wouldn’t win! Imagine that: the world’s ‘Greatest Rock n’ Roll’ band losing out to a Romanian drag-act, singing about lord knows what! Eurovision is for the whacky and camp. It’s all about the entertainment; not really the music at all.

I saw the last two thirds, entry 10 Sweden (this year’s winner) onwards.
To my surprise I quite enjoyed it, including all that cheesiness that was unmistakably Eurovision, due to setting the bar low perhaps.

I liked the Israeli singer and her team in particular — the singing and dancing were every bit stunning and they hooked me during the whole performance.

Forced to see the whole show by my daughters.

All in all, a well crafted entertainment product, but completely forgotten the next morning.

The Croatians - sort of 2023 version of the Village People - stole the show. Käärijä was funny too.

With few exceptions (Italy's Mengoni and France's Zarra for example), it is impossible to guess from which country the singers came from just by listening to the music. Very few sang in their mother-language, all songs were the same indistinguibile spotifyish forgettable pop mish mash.

For the non-Europeans here, thank god the show doesn't represent at all the current state of our music!

Same procedure as every year: a parade of jokes as unfunny as they are ugly. Urgh.

Just the rundown, fast forward in less than 10 minutes. Couldn't endure more.
