Ryuichi Sakamoto (1952-2023, aged 71) was a Japanese composer, pianist, producer and actor.
As a solo artist, he worked in various musical genres such as jazz, neo-classical or (avant-garde) pop and composed several film scores.
He was also a member of the 1978 in Tokyo formed Japanese electronic music band Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO).
