post that popcorn picture again as your 'rebuttal,' why dont you?
and youre the guy that spewed 'Do you think saying the same thing, for the 10th time, that someone will all of sudden agree with you? really?'
but at least the advantage of looking at it means you arent talking

yeah i tried to tell him. glam metal isn't just a look but has an actual sound to it too. glam bands like motley crue, poison, pretty boy floyd, faster pussycat, ratt, etc at one point all followed a pretty similar template for sound but then changed over time. bands like white lion, warrant, dokken and bulletboys are pop metal bands but don't fall into the glam metal category.
twisted sister, quiet riot, w.a.s.p. and lizzy borden are just 80's styled mainstream metal bands with over the top looks and skid row is a straight up hard rock band
- gosh great, thanks for the breakdown there pal!! and for distinguishing 'pop metal from 'glam metal' !! ke-rist, i couldn't live without knowing this tidbit of non information. but really, we all know it was about make-up, feathered hair, spandex pants and men singing like girls
but nonetheless they all had two things in common besides being a metal sub-genre; no matter how you want to categorize them they all sounded like shit, and they all dressed like idiots to get attention. and just because three million idiots went out and bought whatever the record company shoved under their noses doesn't mean the music was any good
and i think they were terrible musically in part because their ears get clogged due to bad hair extensions
and skid row? are you fucken kidding me? how you guys can be stones fan and listen to that shit, too, and even argue for its credibility, is beyond me; all these crappy bands you seem to adore are bottom feeders on the musical food chain; their music was bad in its 'heyday,' and has not aged well at all
dont like that assessment? fine with me. i'm just not used to arguing with adults who try and defend bands with lead singers who dress like CLOWNS, because that is usually the position of some 12 year old who thinks 'winger' is the end all to be all
and by the way even kiss never sounded as bad as skid row. let’s lay the balls on the table, ok? skid row is pathetic. sebastian bach is a moron and cant sing. just another run of the mill band that choose to indulge in drugs, women and hairspray over devoting a little time to creating something that hadn’t been heard a thousand times over by other crappy bands just like them
if I were in that band I would have paid one of the roadies to adjust the volume of Sebastian Bach's microphone, like adjusted to 'off.' anyway his real last name is bierk, not bach. so why in the hell does this guy name himself after the great Johann Sebastian Bach? if you see 'sebastian bach in a headline you'd think they were talking about J.S. Bach, but then it turns out its about some dumb ass that looks a lot like a woman

If you replaced all the words you typed like "Crue" and "Hanoi" with "gays" and "homosexuals"... people would probably accuse you of being homophobic and comment that you might be a closeted gay. You seem to be very Crueophobic... so maybe you are a closeted Crue fan and just dont want to admit it to yourself, friends and family... not that there is anything wrong with that.
I see a wide variety of bands and genres of music metioned on IORR, but even whne I dont like them, I never feel compelled to rain hate on them, why would I?
- thanks for the analysis, sigmund
but hey for a guy that never feels compelled to rain shite on anything, you sure show up a lot to rain it here
hell i left the thread for a few days and came back to look only to find it chock full of your supposed non compulsivity, and if i do the same again i am sure i will return to find more of your non compulsivity raining down all over the page
yeah so I dont like the goofy clothes, lipstick and pouty faces, and the whole image and cheesiness of 'glam metal' or whatever the hell you want to call it; which is why I cannot stand motley crue, skid row, twisted sister, hanoi rocks and all that crap.
and it seems to bother you, sigmund. it really does. the thread is entitled 'why the dislike for motley crue.' i answered why. but you cant seem to handle it, though, and you keep re-appearing like a bad fucken smell to tell me i'm 'wrong' and 'narrow minded'
but it's ok that you feel these lousy bands are being assessed unfairly. what is not ok is that you do not or pretend to not know why. this is a STONES board, full of Stones fans, most of whom either i suspect do not like or do not care about glam metal, hanoi rocks, twisted sister, motley crue or whatever the crap is you seem to need to defend so much
sigmund, why do you keep trying to pretend that there should be level headed discussion about goddamn shithouse bands like motley crue or twisted sister on a STONES site?

you can't like those bands here. instead you have to defend the stones crap mid 80's music as being better than what those guys were doing

skid row was one of the few respected hard rock bands of the late 80's/early 90's and the members were invited to appear on stage with pantera, megadeth, slayer, metallica, judas priest..
- wow - that's quite the impressive lineup ya got there ..did i sound sarcastic?? i'm sorry. and i know there's a big difference between megadeath, slayer and metallica.. and warrant, winger and poison (in varying degrees of shittiness, basically) but you have to be fucken joking, right? skid row, respected? by who? slayer??? thats not exactly the equivalent of earning a rock and roll knighthood, is it?
show me the video of skid row playing with the STONES. then you might be on to something. but of course that will NEVER happen and i'll let you draw your own conclusions as to why
oh, word is..if you hadnt heard, skid row is thinking of coming back for a 'reunion'. like anybody cares. i guess the Puppet Show at Six Flags is in need of an opening act

everyone knows the stones have basically been a nostalgia act since 1983 only releasing new material to tour behind or attempt to appear relevant. dirty work was clearly an 80's album. steel wheels has all of the guitars tuned to fit 80's rock. voodoo lounge is an attempt to recreate the stones music of the early 70's. bridges to babylon is all over the place. a bigger bang has some of the most generic and laziest stones tunes ever plus a few winners

I disagree with that 100%... but that is probably for another thread.
I do wonder though, if you feel this way, why post/be a memver of a Stones forum?

because i love the stones and steel wheels is actually one of my favorite albums by them but there are many on here who don't think the stones have been releevant since the early 70's and a few who think they died in the 60's. look at the stones current business model. celebrate 50 years by releasing an expensive compilation with only 2 new songs. not even practical anymore
So many people "coming out" on this thread .... who would have thought tele would be a fan of "One bad apple dont spoil the whole bunch" and "Puppy Love" ?Quote

I've been desperately trying to stay on the sidelines on this one, but this has to be the single funniest thing anyone has said here in a long time.
Look, anyone can like whatever they like, but when soomeone literally titles a thread "why the dislike for Motley Crue" on a Stones site, that person is indeed asking for it. Let's do "why the dislike for Donny Osmond" next. It has just as much relevance.

the stones have released some great music since 1983 but i still don't think it was relevant to any current music scene and bridges to babylon a horrid attempt to try and make the stones current. at least they dropped that after that album. i still think wandering spirit and keiths 2 solo albums are the best stones related stuff in the last 25 years.
anyways yes i've seen several people on here say the stones died after exile or after some girls or after tattoo you and a few who said they died when brian jones left

Didn't say I WAS a fan, but to be truthful, I don't think those songs are any more silly than the stuff put out by glam metal bands. Both are different kinds of cartoons. But like I said, people like what they like. I just think neither artist is related to the Stones music in any way. But it makes for another amusing thread, I suppose. Carry on.
