Sad to hear this news. Glad I got to see him 3 or 4 times, he and his band were great. The album he made with Roger Daltrey is great. I will be giving it a spin later.

He was performing onstage as recently as a month ago. Sad news.

His guitar lesson in the 1980's BBC music course was hugely influential to me -instead of playing 'correct' and 'neat' my music teacher was teaching me, Wilko showed how to hit hard and play dirty, with that fantastic gnarly Tele sound he achieved. It still is part of how I play.

Sad news - i first saw wilko in 2015 (with the fabulous Norman watt-roy on bass) whilst he was under a terminal diagnosis for cancer. Miraculously after major surgery, he was on tour again a year or two later and i witnessed a magnificent gig at Manchester Ritz with Joanne Shaw Taylor supporting

He and Roger Daltrey made an album together...some really good songs on there...covers, I believe...Thank you.

Sad and curiously unexpected news but I guess we should be thankful that he cheated death for so long.

Don't quite know what to say. My absolute favorite. An amazing human being.

Now that the shock has worn off, can start to reflect upon how much joy his music has given me. First saw him with Dr Feelgood on "The Geordie Scene" on Saturday afternoon TV in 1975 and was blown away. Their energy level reminded me of early Stones (and they played Route 66 on the show) with a strict adherence to 3 chords and a barely harnessed energy. Saw Dr Feelgood live with Wilko twice after that and these remain two of the best shows I've ever witnessed. Saw him many times from 1978 onwards after he left the band and, while I've always loved his shows, he never quite hit the heights of the early Feelgoods. I saw Dr Feelgood once after he left - I was actually on the same bill - with Gypie Mayo on guitar. Whilst they were a solid band with a charismatic frontman, they lacked the magic of the Wilko days. I always likened it to the Stones without Keith. I met Wilko once at a meet and greet and he was a pure gentleman. He was a huge influence upon my guitar playing - hey, check my username - and always a pleasure to watch in action. I suppose his vocals were a bit of an acquired taste, but he was a top notch performer and always a treat to see him play with Norman and Dylan in more recent years. I held onto tickets to see him for two years during lockdown, then had to miss the rescheduled show as I had contracted covid. Now there won't be any more chances and I'm just grateful for the many happy hours I've spent watching him and the many years I've continued to love these early Feelgood tracks, in particular. I'll never forget the warmth of the reception he got at his "farewell" concert in Glasgow and how emotional his final "goodbye" was. Just so grateful he got all those extra years after the gift of life-saving surgery.

Was lucky enough to catch him at the George Robey in Finsbury Park in late 1990 I think or maybe early '91. Incredibly energetic fantastic performance. Brought the house down with a scintillating version of 'Milk and Alcohol'. Great gig and fantastic times in a much missed London venue.

I also had a lot of fun listening to his recordings from the Feelgoods, Blockheads and so on. His live album "Don't Let Your Daddy Know" is always in great rotation here.

Lucky to see him in May this year in Shrewsbury UK after two postponed concerts due to Covid. He still delivered. A unique guitar style. A charismatic stage presence. RIP Wilko........those DR. Feelgood tracks are often played.

From memory, he lasted 10 years longer than I thought he would, he was expecting to die around the time he did that album with Daltery. He had a unique guitar style.
