In his book Ronnie claims he saw Brian zonked out at the studio, quite possible, but yah know how much Ronnie likes to tell tall stories.

According to his biography, he worked on a session with Mick and Keith - maybe on the Immediate label? - so I guess he may of met Brian.

In the 1977 radio interviews with the Stones, Ronnie said he met him in the studio (I think during Beggars Banquet). He said something like Brian was wearing all these crazy clothes and floppy hats and then said "This guy gets away with murder"!

Why is it untrue? It's not unlikely that they could have met each other but Mick says that he didn't. Why would he lie about that?

I think it sounds better for M Taylor to say he never met them and was therefore a "prodigy" who came to the attention of The Stones due to his guitar playing ability. Rather than having met them before and been the easy choice...

He met Stu in 1967, there's yer direct connection. Stu suggested Taylor in 1969 because of his guitar playing.

Does every thread about Ron Wood become one about Mick Taylor?

Taylor has stated in many interviews that he has never met Jones. He had run into Jagger once or twice in a studio or gig, that's it. he never saw the Stones live before he joined, and only spoke to Ian Stewart in '67 when he bought Keith's LP.
