Everyone should own "The Very Best of Little Richard".

What's yours?

If Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and or Tyler Childers do not open for the Stones on at least one of the US shows this year...then somebody dropped the ball!

The Stones are a nostalgia act that should retire in Vegas IF they cannot write and record AND RELEASE a dozen new tracks in 14 years.

Why all the singing television shows?
(Combing the country for young vocalists to sing other people’s songs.)
How about a talent show for bands, who write their own music?
That’s all I can think of,
as Dolly Parton’s ‘Here You Come Again’ is played to a fried chicken commercial
because all the old bands are getting a song in advertising to maintain their legacy with a younger generation, a generation without new music bands.
Bands, meaning: people who sing AND play instruments to make music.
NEW music that has no format to sell, except maybe on TV talent shows with
B celebrity judges.
Otherwise kids are left with techno sorta dance pop on radio to become ‘theirs’

That last line is sadly so true.

I always hated The Violent Femmes. Makes me angry just typing their name. There, I got that off my chest. Thank you.

If rap/hip-hop didn't kill rock, it certainly hurt it.

Rock hurt itself by becoming so effing boring and predictable.

Buy music as directly from the artist as possible and go see bands you enjoy live as often as possible.

Musicians can't rely on albums anymore to be successful. Spotify and Amazon are currently suing songwriters to avoid paying .004 cents per stream instead of .003.

Don't stream, buy albums and go to concerts, or good songwriters will slowly but surely disappear.

Re Marty Stuart and his band, if they are coming to your area, I agree, a must see. Same holds true for David Bromberg, who puts on a great concert.

On another note, why does anyone consider Adam Levine a major music talent?

It doesn't work like that. It isn't a competition. Everything has its time. Things evolve. Maybe a sound advice is to try and keep up with the times.
Listen to what's around. Doesn't matter whether it's rock & roll or not.

approaching the stadion narodowy in the praga district of warsaw on a sunny warm summers evening and hearing trombone shorty belting out very loud sounds on trombone and other assorted wind instruments was a fantastic experience that people should enjoy, i didnt think those instruments could be so loud.

john lennon was jealous of the stones success.

barry ryans original version of eloise in the 60,s sounds exactly like the excellent cover version by the damned in the 80,s.

Jerry Lee Lewis is scheduled to play live shows soon. Also working on a new record, slowly but surely. My observation is that hopefully the stoke didn't fvck up his projects. Jerry Lee is great.

Learning all the guitar licks for Sultans of Swing is time consuming and at times
frustrating for my fingers. Its a great song to learn because all the guitar licks are over the chords you play.

Substituting the word 'Ticket' with 'Chicken' in Ticket to Ride makes the song much better.

Discover Bix Beiderbecke from the 1920s. If you haven't already, discover Michael Bloomfield.
