"Stones sights" in Melbourne and Sydney?

Visiting Australia for the first time in less than a couple of weeks. Splitting time between Melbourne, Sydney and bit of the coast.

Are there any "Stones sights" worth seeing in either Melbourne and Sydney? Venues they played etc.? Maybe heritage hotels they would have stayed at in 1966 or something like that?

Correct. Quite possibly the only place with a 100% cancellation record for multiple Stones' concerts.

Quite a shame actually as it's a wonderful place for a concert.

I bet it is. Springsteen played there on his last Oz tour in 2017.

It was brought to my attention that there's a Rolling Stones-themed bar in Melbourne.

It's called - well, the Voodoo Lounge Sorrento.

Might drop past!

Lots of stones sights in both cities:
Melb where I live:

Palais theater where they played in 65 & 66. Kooyong tennis stadium (a short train ride from the city) where they played in 73, Corner hotel Richmond where Mick played in 1988. Rod laver Arena every tour since in 1988 (Jagger solo) & 2003, 2006 & 2014, MCG in 1995.

Flowerdrum $$$$ chinese restaurant in the city where all band members have frequented. France Soir in Sth Yarra where Keith & Ronnie ate on the 2003 - there used to be a photo on the wall but not sure if it's still there.

Old Melbourne Gaol in Russell St city where they filmed Mick in Ned Kelly in 1969.
If you venture out to the suburbs the venue for the 1973 press conference was in Eltham (longer train ride) artists colony called Monsalvat which the recent BBC documentary showed a glimpse of with Mick saying: "Watch out boy". There's a house in the suburbs where the Stones partied after the press conference at 39 Woodville St Nth Balwyn on the corner of Fintonia (end of the 48 tram line).

Sydney:
Enmore theatre 2003 gig, Sydney cricket ground for 1995 gigs. Old Spaghetti factory in the Rocks where they had the 1973 press conference there are photos of the conference inside the building.

Hotels: Sir Stamford hotel in Macquarie St (old Ritz Carlton) for the 1995 tour, Four Seasons hotel 2003 tour, Park Hyatt for more recent tours. Old hotels have been since pulled down where they stayed in the 60's in Kings Cross. Above the coke sign in Kings Cross is the old hyatt hotel where they stayed in 1973, Randwick racecourse was the venue for that tour.

Caffe Roma in kellet St Kings Cross where Keith and Patti went to in 2014. I went there a few weeks ago its cheap but ordinary, used to be a photo of Keith and the owner which had gone replaced with an Ed Sheeran signed poster.....boring!

Bondi Icebergs restaurant that Mick & Charlie dined at in 2003. Very $$$$ haven't been there but it has a great views of Bondi beach so would be a good lunch place.

That selection should keep you busy....enjoy both great cities.

pool's in but the patio ain't dry

Worth elaborating that it's also where Ned Kelly was actually hanged.

Such is life.
