Remember when Rolling Stones album covers were cutting edge and dangerous, and used top graphic designers and photographers top create them? Well, it's come to this, my friends. A first-year art student with a 6-pack and Photoshop could have done this in 15 minutes. Awful.

Apart from Sticky Fingers, their covers have always sucked.
I disagree. Like
- BtB
- Made in the shade
- SG
- Black&Blue
- Exile
- GHS
- TY
- LYL
- Let it bleed (great one!)
- same
- No. 2
- Aftermath
- Through the past darkly
and many more.

Two new songs in 7 (seven) years since 2005, what a creative musical power ... three and a half year for each one ... sweet!

I enjoy that they are going to release two new songs, probably one of them will become a new single. Anyone knows when it is going to be released?

I actually like the cover. Still, typical for the late Stones to underwhelm fans. 2 songs, come on. Don't give me that "they don't owe you anything" talk, I can expect whatever I want and the greatest rock and roll band in the world has to work harder than this to deserve their title. Big machinery with no content, their image only preserved in the heads of a few hardcore fans, for everyone else the Stones long stopped existing as a working band and they only have themselves to blame.

Grrrap

Hey, we are just getting started here. Let's let the next 10 months play out before we slam the door shut on the dream. OK?

GRRR?
What the f*** is that?
May be Jagger has an Alzheimer's disease because of all cocaine he snorted, but Universal bosses are also out of their mind?

GRRREATEST HITS. It does draw your attention, does it not? Visualize it on the CD rack.

The price for the standard 3-cd version is 15 GBP which is about 24 USD or 19 Euro.

When was the last great cover anyway, they've all been pretty rubbish since at least Dirty Work.

I don't like concept and idea and cover and title.

Friggin' hell...is this the grand release to celebrate 50 years (well, it ended in 2006 really) of the Stones? An umpteenth collections release with the same old songs we already have in 20 different packages, with butt-ugly artwork and a horrendous title, including two 'new' songs 'recorded' (pfff..) in Paris which are probably of the same quality of the 'new' recordings included in '40 Licks'...Man, this sucks.

Here's hoping they will record more new songs regardless of this release. 2 new songs is just not enough.

And will it also be the "GRRR! 50th Anniversary Tour" ?

LOL.... maybe a perfect title for the gumpsters for the coming years... they'll be sitting there in the geriatric wing, grumping away, and the nurse will come by and ask if they would like to hear some music and the grumpster will just "GRRRRR!!!" .... and the nurse will know what they want winking smiley

One more boaring Greatest Hits album with only 2 new songs.I am very disappointed. 100 times Tumbling Dice, Miss You, Start Me Up , Satisfaction.....
40 Licks was boaring with his only 2 new songs: Extreme Western Grip and Well, Well were only instrumentals.
I will not hope that Gloom And Doom, and One Last Shot are the same style.

Greetings from Germany

They should have got in contact with Kellogs and used this as the cover

I have no doubt that some of the tracks on this compilation will be:

Back Street Grrr
Factory Grrr
My Grrr
Some Grrrs
Down Home Grrr
Indian Grrr
Stupid Grrr

Seriously, I'm with the majority here in not thinking too highly of the artwork or the title. But I AM looking forward to hearing the two new tracks. I just hope I can buy them seperately from the entire package. We'll see.....

What does MightyStones50 have to say about this? We were told the "magic" would be revealed today. I don't call putting yet another compilation of the same old material out magical. The only "news" is that they could only be bothered to come up with half the new material as last time they did this.

Calm down, Tele. You should be thankful for what you got today. It could have been more, but Mick obviously decided to extend the foreplay a little longer. He knows what he is doing. If they are going to do shows in November then the announcement has to come at some point very soon. The autumn winds will soon be upon us. Keep the faith, there are many lovely things coming our way.
