Vancouver...I think the day before Keith's birthday.

Raleigh- I think it was sometime near October 1994.

Foxboro Mass ... LOVED IT, great seats and stage was the best they ever designed.
GREAT entrance for Charlie.

First and only stones gig, Wembley 1995... the initial buzz of seeing them wore off soon enough and I felt quite bored.

It was not The Rolling Stones really.

I bet you would have liked the Urban Jungle show more, at least setlist-wise?

IMO, they did some good renditions of the 60s-stuff back then:

Factory Girl, 2000 Light Years From Home, Ruby Tuesday, Street Fighting Man (with acoustic guitar) and on some shows Play With Fire.

VL was the first time when my mind started to wander during the show. I have to confess that looking back the one thing that I remember most were the comic-book style graphics on screen before "Love is Strong".

I saw both shows at RFK Stadium in DC and the 8/14/94 Giants Stadium show, some of which was used for a live VHS release. I recall it sounding kind of hollow in RFK, but Hot Stuff with horns should have been explored further. They had worked out a lot of kinks by Giants Stadium and included seven songs from Voodoo Lounge in the setlists.

Stockholm 1995 was the first time I saw the Stones. Fantastic experience!
I regret not seeing more Voodoo Lounge shows.

The show in Oslo (only one show in 1995) was great. However, the first show in 1990 was hard to follow up.

It was great getting songs like Hearbreaker, Wild Horses, Monkey Man, Not Fade Away, Live With Me and Let It Bleed for the first time.

Attended four concerts of the VL Tour:

Prague, Aug 5th 1995
Leipzig, Aug 15th 1995
Berlin, Aug 17th 1995
Hockenheim, Aug 19th 1995

After the last three gigs I was crashed and broke

All of them were great but Prague and Leipzig were very special

The Voodoo Lounge Tour was the first tour on which I attended multiple shows :
2 x Hippodrome de Longchamp in Paris
Olympia
Luxembourg

Great souvenirs, especially the Olympia, my 1st intimate Stones concert.
IMO a better tour than SW/UJ, the 1st one I witnessed

1995 - Wembley.

Preferred it to Urban Jungle, though I love the Tokyo archive recording.

June 20th, 1995, Cologne, Mungersdorfer Stadion:

The lights went down; Charlie started drumming...

From the right side Mick J. entered the stage, dancing and prancing. Right from that moment, 70.000 people were connected in a giant electric field.

When he reached his mike and bowed down, the crowd went nuts.

"I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be
You're gonna give your love to me !"

I saw them at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, September 29, 1994. It was my first Stones show. Blind Melon was the opening act. I snuck in with a friend who knew the ushers and we stood way in the back. I remember getting excited when Keith played a Les Paul for Satisfaction.

Hockenheimring, Hockenheim/Germany, 19.8.1995

Fussballstadion St. Jakob, Basel/Switzerland 29.7.1995

Basel was a quiet intimate atmosphere with a 15.000 audience (as far as I remenber)unlike the Hockenheim racetrack gig, where it was a 90.000 audience in tatal.

Sorry, but Basel were two concerts and had each around 40'000 people.
The first time they played Shine a Light... on stage was on the 2nd concert.

Wrong
Shine A Light was performed at the Paradiso in Amsterdam at the end of May and at the Olympia in July, and then at the Brixton Academy.
Basel was only the first open-air rendition.

I too was at First Night in DC. Hot Stuff was awesome to hear, didn't last in the set list. That's one good thing about early shows, you get a couple of tunes that soon get dropped.
T@3

I was there as well and loved the rarities. "Brand New Car" and "I Can't Get Next To You" were both rare treats. I saw East Lansing about a month later and boy, they were firing on all eights - the single best 'Stones show I've ever seen! I saw Pontiac a couple months after and it was somewhat anti-climactic. The Voodoo tour remains my favorite of the modern era.

I totally agree! Even Not Fade Away was awesome as the intro! And that snake breathing fire or whatever it was - proved great!!

Grison; I know there where concerts, but as I remember it wasn't packed at all. One of the stadium stuff told me something about a 15.000 audience.
Don't forget that they's play at the old St.Jakob Stadium, which had a less capacy than the new one.

Detroit isn't dead yet! Still a lot of kick in that rust bucket city.

But yeah, I saw them in Washington DC on opening night. I thought it was a great show. Loved it. Sound issues, and some flubs not withstanding, it was great. They pulled out some really great ones that I was shocked to hear live for the first time. Hot Stuff, and a great version of Monkey Man!! Great show.

Remember the guy on stilts during Monkey Man? They dropped him pretty quick; he was pretty silly. We also got Memory Motel, which was also dropped after three shows according to Gazza's setlist page. [rocksoff.org]

Also, they did 27 numbers the first two nights, then dropped down to 25.

Don't forget the "healthcare for the elderly" joke at absent Bill Wyman's expense.

Camp Randall Stadium, Madison WI 26 August 1994. Without a doubt, my favorite Stones show (my 4th time seeing them since 1975.)The 'Not Fade Away' opener was killer and all the way through just a great show. Chawlie got a huge ovation, and even took a second bow after some encouragement from Ronnie. It was a beautiful summer night with the boys.

This is a witch hunt and I won't be a part of it.

Halloween, Oakland California. Chuck Leavell made his presence known. I was also mildly disappointed that Bernard did almost all the important vocals on Rocks Off.

Day before Halloween was an identical show. These guys were phoning it in in 1994.

I met her at a Stones photography exhibit in DC. The lady had a bit of an attitude as I recall. I mean c'mon. It's only rock and roll.

I met her in Clevelend Columbus one time and she was sweetheart... then again she was (we all were) getting ready to go see Kieth in 20 minutes... so that might have helped. grinning smiley anyway, I liked her, and it is good to see she is still out there doing it... dates in the video say 10' and 11'... so good for herthumbs up

I knew her from the previous (pre IORR) boards... back before everyone got all jaded, back before it became fashionable to bash the Stones.

Anyway.... I love her video tribute... more smiles per minute than any other video... and look at Keith's smiles... good times man... good time.
