The Beatles came first and most everyone just loved their refreshing sound, then along came the Stones with a bit of a rawer, "dirtier" sound, and many were drawn in by their audacity, it really, really IS a matter of taste in the end, loved the Beatles up until Revolver, but then they changed into more druggier and more depressing music, and Stones played druggy and depressing so much better IMHO..of course, we all have our favorite Beatles period and favorite Stones period as well simply dependent on one's taste in music..

So? I'd rather have the young Marianne Faithfull or Anita Pallenberg than any of those chicks.

The Rolling Stones are great and have been around longer...

The Stones are past their prime... And...
The Beatles were better... okay? Happy?

The truth is that Stones copied Lennon (Beatles) 1965-1967 in everything they did, everything....

I don't think that is correct. It was rather common ground for more bands for a certain period of time, to some extent. A short and magic period in the history of rock. And has for instance "THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES' REQUEST" that much likeness with "SERGEANT PEPPER'S" when you look closer into it?

To take one track only, "2000 Light Years from Home". I am not sure and, please, correct me if I am wrong, however, I think I have read some time that it was not a copy in any sense, but inspired by a track not at all from the Beatles, but rather from the Byrds, featured in their fourth album "YOUNGER THAN YESTERDAY". That is the track describing an abduction into outer space by creatures from there in a foreign space ship. The track is "C.T.A.-102", and you might listen to it here

Even Jimi Hendrix shows an expression of a similiar theme at the outset of "AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE".

Well then?

On a Beatles fan site maybe, (but probably not). On a Stones site The Stones are miles ahead.(unless it is this site)

My guess is that in 200 years will only find 'Satisfaction', 'Yesterday', 'Hey Jude', and 'Let it be' in the history books on music from the 1960s...
3 - 1 to The Beatles....
