Gimme Shelter is just the title of this album. It's a compilation of songs from Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! and Got Live if You Want It!.

As far as I can recall, this compilation consists of a side of studio takes and a side of songs from Got Live If You Want It.

I better play my vinyl album again...

Haven't played it in decades but I remember it as one side compilation and one side 'live'

I'm gutted.

I've got that album GLIYWI about 2ft away from me.

Haven't played it in 30 years.

Terrible stereo.

I don't have a turntable anymore which doesn't help I suppose.

one of the plenty of Decca releases from the 70's using the 60's catalogue

I have this cd - a russian bootleg (CD Maximum label). It is a compilation of studio takes (till SFTD) and GLIYWI (starting from UMT). Plus a couple of songs from Okland 69. Nothing special in terms of quality.

That's very strange. My vinyl copy has studio takes + Got Live-tracks.

Have the LP. One of the first I bought. Reason: only way to get the studio version of JJF. This would be during the 80s and I knew JJF was included in other compilations but this was the only one I could find. Incredible. Sounds more like 19th century not 1989.

I have the CD on the series of Russian Cds. Tghe Russian CD IMO is very good; with extra tracks on all album,s.
But the pairings of albums on one Cd are often odd.
The GS disc has a shortened version of "Got Live" album with some radical edits.
E.g it goes RIGHT from the frantic l;ive
Thumb" into "Time is on my side"; and I owned GS album years before getting GLIYWI, so for me it always sounds like UMT should go right into TIOMS. Also the switch from "Lady Jane" into the chainsaw intro of 65/66 live "Satisfaction" is great.

It's also funny that the album title is misspelled, compared with the original title of the song (british abbreviation), Gimmie Shelter.

I do have it on LP but it's a cheap compilation from DECCA..........

You mean vinyl album, not cd album.

Was No Stone Unturned ever issued on CD? I think that compilation is actually quite good, even though the Stones did not choose the tracks.
