Love the song. Great John Phillips production. Scott was a pal of his from his old folkie days, and when it became a mega-hit some said John should have saved it for the Mamas and the Papas. But Scott's vocal is perfect.
Remember when Robert Plant sang a few lines of "San Francisco" in The Song Remains The Same film? Five years after it was a hit, flower power was already a distant memory.

Five years? More like less than two, if that. By late '68 Flower Power was yesterday's news.

Another quote from The Song Remains The Same film, this time a Plant ad-lib during "Stairway."

You know what's interesting about that San Francisco record is the last verse:
He throws in a minor chord which gives it a different feel than the first verses.
There's 2 minor chords in that last verse, Am & Bm, really does give it a different feel
