Last Saturday night, I had the pleasure of seeing from the second row of tables Lisa Fischer, Badass and Beautiful at our local Indianapolis Cabaret. Lisa had a three piece backing group, The Grand Baton, a drummer, bass player and her arranger, guitar player. Her set started with This Land is Your Land and each song was arranged with jazz and soul interludes that were interesting and beautiful. Her set included Wild Horses, Jumping Jack Flash and Gimme Shelter, each with their own arrangements and no mention of the Rolling Stones. Lisa has quite a stage presence. If her show is ever in your town, I would highly recommend it.
