Saw on the Hoffman forum that Ric passed away today. Best known to most as drummer Mick Shrimpton from This Is Spinal Tap, he was an actual rock drummer previously with Atomic Rooster. Read that he also played drums on Toni Basil's Oh Mickey back in the 80s and he turned down offers from Uriah Heep and Journey!
Read that it was a sudden illness, he was still posting online last month.

No it wasn't a bizarre gardening accident, choking on vomit or spontaneous combustion!

Rest In Peace Ric, thanks for your part in the best Rocku/Mocumentary of all time!

His father was Jack Parnell. Most persons growing up in the 1960’s in the UK would recognize that name. “Jack Parnell & His Orchestra.” From “Sunday Night At The London Palladium.” This also from Wiki - “ During the 1940s and 1950s, he (Jack) was voted best drummer in the Melody Maker poll for seven years in succession.”
