I really like Brad Paisley. He's a regular guy, and he's almost
known as a 'smart aleck' (quick with a funny but maybe irritating clever
comment) but he makes his comments in a sort of respectful way.

"Your favorite smart-aleck country-awards host" - Star Tribune

"I was a fan of his," Mayer, 26, says of Paisley. "As a person, he is very
likeable and engaging, especially when you meet people who don\'t have that
quality." - John Mayer

"I'm the smart aleck. The class clown. I'm the guy who does the song
nobody expects.
" - Brad Paisley

"My favorite of the fun songs in ‘Mr. Policeman,’ in which Paisley taunts law
enforcement while hot-rodding around the city." - [meetinmontauk.com]

Mr. Policeman

Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman
Bet I can drive faster than you can
Come on Hoss, let’s have some fun
Go on shoot me with yith your radar gun
You look bored and I sure am
Catch me if you can
Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman
I got a ’75 Firebird Trans Am
With a 455 up under the hood
My and my brother got it running good
Wake up behind them old Ray Bans
Catch me if you can

Go on turn on your blue lights
So pretty
You know you want to I just flew by
I can see you peeling out
How’s my dust taste in your mouth
Come on Smokey it’s time to race
Let’s have us a high-speed chase

Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman
Chopper in the air
And a couple of SWAT vans
That’s no fair now, blocking the road
Where am I supposed to go
Time to use my backup plan
Catch me if you can

Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman
I bet I can run faster than you can
With your big pot belly and your cowboy boots
A hundred bucks says you won’t shoot
I know these woods like the back of my hand
Catch me if you can

Go on turn on your spotlight
So shiny
I got running shoes and I’m younger than you
And I got all night
There’s no way you’re keeping up with me
So go on back to Krispy Kreme
If you wanna quit, I understand
Catch me if you can

Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman
Hey, hey, Mr. Policeman

I’m in the jailhouse now
I’m in the jailhouse now
They told me once or twice
Son respect my authority
I’m in the jailhouse now

Hear Brad Paisley Join the Rolling Stones for ‘Dead Flowers’ on New Compilation
Performance was taped at a 2013 Stones tour stop in Philadelphia
and appears on the band’s new ‘Honk’ collection

by Joseph Hudak - APRIL 18, 2019

The Rolling Stones release their latest compilation, Honk, on Friday. A collection of vintage hits (think usual suspects “Brown Sugar,” “Wild Horses”) and latter-day cuts off albums like 2005’s A Bigger Bang and their 2016 blues foray, the set also contains a disc of live performances, including a rendition of “Dead Flowers” that finds Mick Jagger trading verses with Brad Paisley.

Recorded during Night One of a 2013 two-night stand in Philadelphia on the band’s 50 & Counting Tour, “Dead Flowers” receives an extra shot of twang from Paisley’s cameo. The Nashville star adds some Bakersfield Telecaster to the track, originally recorded for 1971’s Sticky Fingers, and takes ownership of the second verse, potentially jarring the more puritan of his fans with the druggy line about “a needle and a spoon.”

The June 18th, 2013, appearance wasn’t Paisley’s only with the Stones. Two years later he opened for the classic-rock titans at Nashville’s football stadium, and joined them onstage during their set to reprise “Dead Flowers.” Jagger would return the favor in 2017 by singing on the track “Drive of Shame” on Paisley’s Love and War album.

Paisley, meanwhile, recently broke ground on a free grocery store he and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley are planning to open in Nashville. His own Bucked Off Tour gets under way May 30th in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

BRAD PAISLEY OPENS FOR THE ROLLING STONES WITH SPECIAL GUESTS CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND JOE WALSH

Brad Paisley crushes it as Rolling Stones opener!

Brad Paisley had a surreal night as the opener for the Rolling Stones. It was a night for the music history books with
iconic rocker Mick Jagger, donning a white cowboy hat along with Paisley, saying the Stones came to play rock music
despite being in Nashville.

That’s not to say that country music singer Brad Paisley didn’t impress Jagger. “I want to thank Brad Paisley for doing
such a good job in the opening set,” Jagger said.

The praise was well-deserved, as Paisley knowing he had to win over the non-country Stones fans, pulled out all
the stops with his infamous guitar skills. It was safe to say that Paisley held his own.

Not that Paisley couldn’t had done it alone, but he did have some help from some country music royalty. Carrie
Underwood joined Paisley on their #1 hit duet, “Remind Me,” and Joe Walsh of the Eagles played his classic
“Life’s Been Good” and stayed on stage to play on Paisley’s “Alcohol.”

Later, during the Rolling Stones show Paisley was the special guest on “Dead Flowers,” trading verses with Mick Jagger
and guitar licks with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood.

Brad Paisley Joins the Rolling Stones for Dead Flowers in Nashville during the band's Zip Code Tour(2015)

Brad Paisley did double-duty on that evening, opening the Stones’ show at the city’s LP Field, where he brought on special
guests Carrie Underwood and Joe Walsh.

“We’ve got so many country artists here tonight,” joked Mick Jagger, “When I went to the VIP room back stage,
wow, I’ve never seen so much heartbreak!”

“We should come here more often,” added Keith Richards, “it’s a great town.”

“Thanks Nashville for giving us such a hot sultry night, we had a blast!!”, posted Jagger the day after the show.

I met DJ a couple of times. My friend is a huge Elvis fan and her husband is in the music industry (Ronnie McDowell’s nephew).

DJ was a sweet man. Seemed very kind and down to earth. Hell, he played the drums in my friend’s house with a band for her birthday. That was some cool shit to see!! I should’ve taken a picture or video, but I didn’t want to make it weird.

Country star and expert guitar shredder Brad Paisley gets the honor
of opening for the legendary Rolling Stones when their summer stadium
tour stops in Nashville.

Paisley made the announcement Tuesday in a series of tweets.

“May I have your attention please,” the notorious smart aleck began. “So it’s
been a while since I was an opening act. But I think I remember how to do that. . .”

“So proud to warm up for the greatest rock band in the world June 17, LP Field
Zip Code Tour,” he wrote, later adding “I’ve never been tempted to frame a
tweet before now.”

This won’t be the first time Paisley has collaborated with the seemingly
immortal rock & roll pioneers. He also shared the stage with them in
Philadelphia in June of 2013, singing a verse and taking a blazing guitar solo
during the Stones’ countrified classic, “Dead Flowers.”
