That is an old article dated May 22, 2019, i.e. even before the 2019 tour. Just the following quote from that article makes me stop reading, it isn't serious:
"No one goes to see the Stones play in 2019 to hear a musical performance. They go to see Mick Jagger, ... bla bla bla ..."
Mick Jagger ain’t The Stones, people go for the music, and Mick is still a great musician. The Stones are one of those bands who can start wobbly and by the third number they’re in the groove. And that groove is different each night. A real band, playing live and finding its groove still in 2021.
That bitter, sneering tone takes me back to almost all the writing about the Stones by British music hacks in the late 70s and 80s, and on into the 90s - but the Stones outlived them and all their publications. Roll on, boys...
