What did those guys want Mick to do for them that they got so mad about?
For that matter, why are so many on this board so negative about yesterday?
They never said it would be anything but an appearance to mark the 50th anniversary, yet some people get so upset that a tour wasn't announced, they didn't start playing their favorite song right there, or didn't unveil a new album that would be hailed as "the best since exile/tattoo you."

I just assumed it would be a short appearance, some comments on how crazy it is that 50 years have passed, and that I would mark the day by listening to the stones and thinking about what a huge part of my life they have been.

I wouldn't go to my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and act pissed off that they didn't announce that my mom is pregnant.

The Stones had what 7-8 years between BTB and ABB? If they never do another thing, it's fine with me. The announcement of a few shows this year is perfect. I hope they get to rehearse well and play some great shows for those lucky enough to go. I will enjoy them afterwards I'm sure when one of the posters here gets a video/discs of the show.

Great day in London yesterday with great friends and Counterfeit Stones gig last night. I went to the exhibition this morning before I got train home.

Why all the negativity ?......Do I wish the band had played ? Of course I do, but it wasn't to be. We celebrated as best we could and have no regrets.

This was my thought too.

I think, it is only a effect (regarding the cowlick) from the video compression because of the low 320x240 resolution.

Maybe we can ask John Nicholls if it's possible to upload the video again in a higher resolution (Full HD? ).

I've been in those types of crowd many times, trying to score an autograph. The longer you've waited, the nastier the sting is when you walk away with nothing but there's no need to be angry about it like some of the dudes in the video. Amateurs!

John, Only just ;-)
Although it will be hard to believe for many people on here but Thursday was one of the best days I've had in years. Myself, StraycatUK and John saw Keith outside his hotel then headed over to Somerset House and saw the boys on the red carpet. I've never been face to face with Mick before! I was buzzing. I wasn't interested in getting anything signed just being there was enough for me. Then we got in a limousine and saw the Counterfeit Stones at the Floridita where we drank ourselves daft and rocked the night away. I can't recommend the Counterfeit Stones enough, they were superb. Also saw Paulywaul and Beast in there too.
Was it worth the train tickets, the hotel, the bar tab? Bloody right it was!
