Is vintage stone asking about this year's Isle of Wight festival, or the one the Stones played at in 2007?

Anyway, I'll be at the festival this year - just hoping that as we have moved to Glastonbury's weekend, we don't also get their usual weather.

Ticket just delivered! I don't think it's ever been this early before. Gigantic are so much better than Ticketmaster, who always used to give me this hellfire last-minute drama with tickets not arriving till I was practically on the ferry.

I thought he was asking about Bob Dylan's 1969 performance.

I think it'll be Sky Arts - it was last year and they are one of the sponsors:

Floods cause festival traffic chaos...

The festival campsite entrance became an impassable mudbath. While the organisers were laying metal trackways and opening new carparks, there was nowhere for any of the traffic to go - so there was an unmoving traffic jam all the way from the ferry terminal to the festival site. I guess I was one of the lucky ones: I got off my ferry at 12.15 and then spent five hours stranded in the terminal car park. Inconvenient but at least there were toilets, food and drinks available, and when the traffic finally moved I managed to drive to my caravan site for a warm dry bed. People who were going to the festival campsite weren't so lucky - they were stuck in cars overnight and for all I know they aren't at the campsite yet...

People booked on later ferries are stranded on the mainland - they aren't going to let any more cars across because there's nowhere for them to go.

Meanwhile, the sun's shining, and as long as I can find transport to get me and my wellies into Newport I should get to hear Tom Petty tonight. Wish me luck!

Good luck indeed Green Lady, the pictures of the car park and camp site look horrendous. A mate of mine who went to both of the Tom Petty gigs at the RAH this week said both shows were outstanding so you should be in for a great evening.

If you have Palladia (here in the US), there will be a 3 hour show tomorrow night. They claim it will not be repeated, so set your DVR's.

They make it sound lie kwe should be so happy they're showing us anything at all. They just don't tell you that it's live in Europe.

PJ ends their set with Yellow Ledbetter . . . Ed's voice is kinda shot, McCready sounds good, melodic solo and the little wing tag is nice.

Palladia seems pretty vague on coverage. They seem to suggest that it is live coverage when we know it is not. A 9:00 p.m. east coast start time suggests otherwise. They will probably telecast bits and pieces from several shows (Tom Petty, PJ, and Bruce) in this telecast. Also, Palladia will show this again, and again just like they do for the other Euro concerts. "One time only telecast" is just a marketing instrument to raise ratings.

I love Mike. Saw him with his his Flight to Mars UFO tribute band in San Francisco a month or so ago. It was great to see him in a small club. Makes me want to see a Pearl Jam show even more now.

Isle of Wright Festival? What's that, a program of Pink Floyd tribute bands?

Re: Isle of Wright Festival

I despair of ever teaching anybody that it's not the Isle of Wright (or Wrong) or the Isle of White - it's the Isle of WIGHT - and in spite of all the mud, mud, glorious MUD I enjoyed it a lot (but then I wasn't in a tent). Still got no voice from singing along to Bruce Springsteen last night ... oh yes, there usually is a Pink Floyd tribute act on the bill somewhere - somehow I've managed to miss that every year so far.
