This is sad, sad news.

Really saddened about Duck's demise.

I love the MGs, and am always moaning that, like McElmore Avenue, Concord should reissue Melting Pot with extra tracks. The MGs toured circa 1970, and footage exists of Creedence watching them do Time Is Tight.

I love Duck's bass on Green Onions, recorded live in 1967 at Paris: it knocks Lewie Steinberg into a cocked hat.

Blues Brothers 2000 was on an obscure late night channel the other night -- not the best movie or close to the original but fun with some great musical numbers. Anyway, the comment about them all dying -- I'm glad they got to do it one more time in the flick, even just for themselves. Dunn should be brought up in any discussion of greats of the electric bass. Watch Otis at Monterrey -- he's practically punk rock!

He's in the pocket with Al Jackson, Jr. as we speak....
