Funny she said she had to save her voice when she appeared to be lip-synching.

Rih has (for real) tweeted: "Seriously, I'm sick! Don't wake me up for dumb shit like that"

Also, all vocals were live by her and her two backup singers. And all music was
live by her band.

Also, this is a typical review, by somebody without wax build-up:

"When she's not rolling weed blunts off strange men's heads or preparing to star
in terrible movies, Rihanna can be found on soundstages turning standard
performances into full-blown mini-concerts, as she did last night (May 5) on
Saturday Night Live.

More than most SNL performers, Rihanna transformed Studio 8H into her own
arena, utilizing gaudy lights and audience handclaps for her first performance.
And if you're not sure which part of Rihanna's body is her cake to "lick the
icing off," the singer will happily visualize it for you with 23 crotch-pats.

RiRi returned to perform her latest track "Where Have You Been," acting out her
Scheherazade fantasies among veiled dancers and diesel drummers. It's been done,
Ri, but it still looked cooler than 99% of other SNL performances (and all
while being sick)."

(hey! Wasn't Jagger sick for 78 SNL? and still transformed it into something
memorable? by like licking ronnie or something?)

from some website about stones SNL. Is it true?

"the Stones partied too much during the week of the SNL performance and peaked
before showtime. From what I've read, Keith was barely able to stand upright by the
time of the live broadcast, and had to be cut from sketches"

her two background singers were hired because they sound very much like her.
so if she's drunk onstage and just feels like dancing for awhile, or she starts
crying because of what some guy did to her last nite, the show does not miss a
beat. Sort of how they use Blondie and Bernard with the Stones.

well well well...

it says here, that because he was sick, "Jagger blew his voice out during the
dress rehearsal."

during the dress rehearsal!

so Cocaine Eyes, cool! It turns out you were exactly right! The young Jagger
would indeed never do what Rih did.

Be smart.

And he was 34 at the time. She's only 24.

well well well.

First, I shall not fuss and fight about this. But, I feel it's only fair to add my final thoughts on the matter. Be smart:

1. Indeed, Jagger did have influenza that night on SNL but he did every skit and performed well (albeit with a bad voice!) in the musical parts.

2. Now, about Keith - the '78 SNL show came virtually half-way in between his huge heroin bust in Toronto (late February, 1977 and his sentencing gig in late April, 1979). He was under great duress - physically, mentally, emotionally and legally. Those were difficult days indeed. His lawyers advised him to remain quiet, play guitar and lay low. He did as he was told because was facing rather ungodly charges here in Toronto. I don't blame him for that at all. I'd have done the same.

3. As someone who knows a great deal about the toll addiction takes on the human body and spirit, I feel kindly and at one with Keith. It's a difficult path for certain.

Peace.smiling smiley
