Max's KC,
I don't want your money.
I just want to really believe you.
Can you give me three reasons to support your certainty?
1)The Stones are in New York practicing.
2)Mick is hosting SNL, there is no (other) legit reason to host.
Every guest this year has had "an agenda", a reason to be there.
3)The 50th anniversary thing is fast approaching and there is a
TON of money to made every which way but loose. Mick knows this
is about the Stones, not just him. It is time to start cranking
this whole thing up. It makes no sense for Mick to do this alone, esp when
4)The band is together, they have been playing, they have been practicing
together, they are (supposedly) still a working band. They are a
group, together in a group, all together in NYC, it is time, they
know it, we know it, everyone knows, they need to play together to
get the 50th anniversary ball rolling. The Stones will play SNL.
5)Certain "supposedly" "in the know" people are not denying it.
6)The silence is deafening and telling.
7)If this was a stock, it's chart would look like this on Dec 15th 2011
and I would be buying it in anticipation the impending POP, surprised if it did not.
PS
If the Stones ever want to invite me to be an insider, sworn to shutting up,
they can feel free to contact me and invite me to attend cool stuff and I will add to the silence.
PPS
If I am wrong and Mick cares so little about his band mates to go do this gig alone, then I think that would be telling in another way.... on the other hand ..... it might be the case that he does cares about them... and he tried to make it work.... but it could not..... then he might say something like "Look man, we tried to do it, we tried to play together as a band, but we no longer "have it", it would hurt us more than help us to play together"....
If saddly that is the case..... I can accept that too. It is what it is.
If that is the case, and they cant play well enough anymore... I guarantee you that I am still happy. I am delighted. I rolled to the Stones as many times as I could over the past 30 years, and it was not easy.... they NEVER(rarely) played in my town. I had to travel 27 of the the 30 times I saw them, I got no multi-dates in one spot to easy rack up my numbers.... but I saw them as many times as possible and it was an absolute delight every time... I am happy... my expections are perfectly set...it is all good... it is ALL GREAT... no matter what happens.... But I am confident they can still play together and they will play together on SNL NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT!!! BE THERE!!!!

You have convinced me.
I am now convinced that the Stones will be there.
I am going to make a Shepard's Pie, chill some Fuller's ESB and enjoy the show.

Connect the dots... SNL is on NBC/Universal. Jimmy Fallon is on NBC/Universal. The Rolling Stones catalog is distributed through Universal Music...

What is the point of the Stones rehearsing in NY if they are not doing the SNL gig. Very bizarre, imo.
Only with God and the Rolling Stones are all things possible.

Done deal.
No games, no tricks, no Wyman/Taylor wasnt there business...
The Stones playing being basically defined as Charlie, Ronnie, Kieth, and Mick on stage playing a song at SNL for this show.
Its a bet
Better clarify about a hypothetical pre-taped "Digital Shorts" scenario. It may already be filmed.
Edit: re-reading your post, it looks like the implication is LIVE ON STAGE, no tape delay, etc.

So...exactly how is a digital short "pre-taped" when they don't use tape? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out They are recorded, just like a movie...but not 'pre-taped'.

I still say:
After a commercial, watch for a camera shot to the street outside, of the Stones playing a song or two on a moving flat bed truck, as was done in the seventies. Then watch the police form a barricade for the Stones to enter the SNL building, and perform another song. Then there could be an announcement of a world tour.
All of the Stones did not travel to New York to rehearse songs, just for the hell of it, and certainly not to provide emotional support for a Jagger performance with a band he is not associated with.
Something big is up.

See, these issues with semantics may come up. Legal consultation may be required.

Once again superevvy takes quick shots and personal attacks.
I have requested that this message be deleted along with superevvy's account.
I have also asked for my account to be deleted.
Before anyone makes a crack about taking all this too seriously think about this for a moment. The threads and messages were and should be about the Rolling Stones. Not personal attacks, etc.
Enjoy yourselves.

Rogue, there is no need for you to delete your account. I haven't noticed a post from you that breaks any rule

There will be a ton of moaning and groaning the morning after if the Stones do not appear. A similar feeling when the New Barbarians left the stage in Atlanta in 79 - the heavily rumored - special vocalists - never appeared.
