Just passed. His most iconic song is "Mr. Bojangles". There's a great live version of this song out there by David Bromberg on which Bromberg tells the history of the song. Jerry Jeff also wrote one of the greatest sing along songs, "Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother".

Just found out today. Sad to hear he only made it to 78. Guess the hard living described by Bromberg took its toll. Great songwriter.
