OT: Frankie Banali RIP

Read that drummer Frankie Banali passed away on Aug 20 from pancreatic cancer. He was with Quiet Riot in the early 80s when they were very popular. Also played with WASP and Billy Idol.
Saw Quiet Riot in Vancouver in 84 with Whitesnake and Kickaxe opening. QR made Slade popular in North America again with their covers of Cum On Feel The Noize and Mama Weer All Crazy Now. Their popularity dropped after the first two albums.
I wonder how Coverdale felt opening for Quiet Riot in North America when they headlined Donnington the year before to 70000 fans. ZZ Top opened for them when Eliminator was huge. Whitesnake was just getting popular in North America with Slide It In. Coverdale's voice was awesome back then, John Sykes on guitar, Neal Murray on bass and legendary Cozy Powell on drums!
QR had Kevin Dubrow as well as Carlos Cavazo on guitar and Rudy Sarzo on bass. Ironically Rudy would go on to join Whitesnake.

RIP Frankie.
