I was expecting a more creative answer from you Mr Grove. C-Quote

I wouldn't even try to contact them unless I had some sort of legitimate business offer for them.
Even if I found myself in contact with them, I would do my best to avoid the "adoring fan" bullshit and try to have something close to a meaningful dialog with them.

I would only contact him if I had something to say, either a question, or an offer of some kind. I would keep my communications free of opinion or criticism, and would make sure they were polite and well-written.
If I were dying, and wanted to send a thank-you letter to him, I would do so, and tell him how his work has enriched my life. But again, I would not offer unsolicited opinions.

I dont really want to talk to him, but we see this type of question from time to time on IORR, people wanting to know how to contact the boys,

I'd use my best phony aussie accent and say, "Thanks for the all the
great music, Mick. By the way, I'm Rockman, from the IORR forum, if that
means anything to ya."
And Mick would say, "Rockman! Some really great stuff you put on there,
you keep filling gaps in our archives. Thanks, see ya man, nice to meet you."
And then me still pretending to be Rockman would say, "Oo-roo, Mick, the
pleasure was all mine."
