Come On
Everything released since 1986 is better...
So why do you think this is the poorest Stones song ever?

Rocker: "Let Me Go" (Studio version), runner up: "Too Tight".

I love it but to suggest it's the best on Tattoo is way off the meek for me let alone since 1980.
Start me up
Waiting on a friend
No use in crying
Tie you up
New faces
Out of tears
One hit
Mixed emotions
Continental drift
Thief in the night
The worst
Saint of me
Laugh I nearly died
She was hot
Biggest mistake
Oh no not you again
Look what the cat dragged in
You got me rocking
Anybody seen my baby
Gunface
and a heap more are better in my opinion.
It's still a ball tearer of of track though
You made me wince...and your 'ball tearer' comment was also cringeworthy.

As "It Must B Hell" is to "Soul Survivor" I have always seen "Slave" to "Hey Negrita".
I do love the video footage from somewhere, of the band jamming on "Slave" and Jagger directing the cowbell lick to someone.

I would say It Won't Take Long and Out Of Control are better.

I think It Won't Take Long is amongst their very best songs ever. It's brilliant.

Mandu,
I agree..."Worried About You" is one of the best followed by "Tops" and "Almost Hear You Sigh"...
But We Can't disagree with the Global Response to "Start Me Up" which makes
it the best Stones song since 1980.

You can disagree whether it's the best song...but it sure is the best single. that single sold the album, which a great single should do.
That's been one of the problems with the album release formula for this band since then...lack of a truly killer single. Much as I loved UOTN as a single, it just didn't have the broad appeal. After that it's been stones by numbers, Don't Stop, High Wire, SOL, ABSMB, Love Is Strong. Nothing remarkable about these cuts.
