From The Vault Series-L.A. Forum-Live In 1975 Question
Posted by: 72stones ()

Hi Everybody,
Somebody here knows the answer to this. I need to know because I'm doing research for a book about the Trademark Of Quality label by the guy who started it. What are the exact dates for the DVD and the CDs in this title? I know that they are different shows, but Eagle does not list specifically which shows they are from from the run they did at The Forum. I need to know this so that I can correlate those dates with the old original L.A. Fog title from Trademark Of Quality so that I don't make any boo-boos.

The notes, written on the EAGLE DVD/CD are wrong.

The 2CD/DVD set has been recorded from the following LA Forum shows:
2CD: 19750713
DVD: 19750711

The TMOQ 3LP Set (1975 Nervous Breakdown, LA Friday, CW & His Fab. RS) is a mix from 19750709, 10, & 13
The Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) version, with the very long intro for example can't be found on the EAGLE 2CD/DVD Set.

you right: [en.wikipedia.org]

".....A DVD for the Friday July 11, 1975 concert at the Forum was released on 19 November 2014 entitled, From the Vault: L.A Forum (Live in 1975). The official release erroneously states that the DVD recording is from the Saturday July 12, 1975 show...."

And what if they are not wrong and the fan's assumptions were wrong over the years? Do you have any proof?

At the end of 'Star Star' MJ says: “This is our last night in Los Angeles, this year...“ So the CD's should be from July 13th. I didn't compare the DVD personly with audience tapes, but of course, all the people who did might be wrong...

I'd tend to trust Mike Millard. The man was neurotic about giving proper attributions to his tapes. Therefore if a MM recording circulates with a "1975-07-11" date I'd trust that, not the back of some DVD.

The real question here is why, after the 11th debacle, Mick didn't call back the video crew for the last two L.A. gigs (ok the last L.A. gig if you believe in the July 12 date) cos it was obvious the performance they had captured was abysal.
Imagine watching instead a multi-cam DVD of the splendid July 13 gig, with Jesse Ed Davis popping on your TV screen during "Sympathy".

Bliss! thumbs up

IIrc it also has the "who went to church this Sunday?" comment by Mick. And 1975-07-13 was a Sunday.

I am not talking about this show, it is clear that the CDs are from the 13th. I am talking about the DVD show.

Ok, then take a look at the Empress Valley box (Whores, Cocaine...). It is directly from the Millard tapes and says also that the video show is on the 12th not the 11th ( [www.dbboots.com] , set 1, discs 3+4). Most probably because the MM recording of the video show has a "1975-07-12" date. Or why should they use the same "wrong" (in fact correct) date as the official release?

Or have you seen that Millard tape labelled "1975-07-11" with your own eyes?

Think what you want, for me it is clear that the DVD show is from July 12th. Why should they write the wrong date on the official release when they have the master tapes. Ok, possible but very unlikely. And the Empress Valley release proves that the 12th is correct because the dates on the Empress Valley cover are also correct and not wrong as often claimed. Maybe it is hard to admit that 1000s of fans were wrong with the 11th for years...

Wikipedia [en.m.wikipedia.org] , Discoqs, and some iorr members
[iorr.org] think the DVD is from July 11th, so I do. I found also July 11th on Nico's Complete Works website [www.nzentgraf.de] Maybe we are all wrong, but I don't think so.

@wiredallnight :

There's a massive rework/repost of the Mike Millard archives currently at Dime.

Right now they're addressing the Led zep 1975 cache of tapes so logically the Stones' recordings will follow this year or in 2021.
With 1st gen with a certified lineage tapes we'll have the definitive word of what happened and when in July 1975.
