it looks like it will be ronnie not keith that inherits the stones
musical legacy when Jagger finally goes off with his new group. but it will
take the addition of mick taylor, at the very least, to make this kind of
fractional Stones show viable at the box office.
I doubt adding Mick Taylor would increase the box office much. He is probably less known than Ronnie Wood by casual and one hit liking fans. If Ronnie was ok with small theaters and clubs he would sell out in selected markets.

you may well be right, but i'm trying to think positive, like I'm promoting
The Fractional Stones, or The Stone Faces, or you-name-em. Of what remains of
the classic rock fanbase, there are a LOT of guitar-heads. And Ronnie plus
Mick Taylor is a guitar-head's wet dream. So that's the angle I would play up.

A different angle, fast n furious SWM

ATLANTIC CITY -- With The Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary tour seemingly
delayed until 2013, the closest thing area fans are likely to see to a live
Stones show for the first time in six years was a quarter of the band in a
solo show --rhythm guitarist Ron Wood and friends Saturday in the Grand
ballroom at Atlantic City’s new Golden Nugget casino resort.

...

The show not only pleased Wood, but the audience, most of whom seemed to
be of Woods’ generation.
One guy of advanced age near the back of the
hall stood on his chair most of the night, wildly gesturing.

It seemed the show was to everyone’s “Satisfaction.”

thanks for posting this review.

musically, ronnie's ready to tour, obviously. but its hard to accept that
the fanbase has gotten so small that there were tickets for this small-
priced small-venue show available til the last minute.

Yeah I agree. But nothing wrong with a solid theatre tour. I'd love to go see a show with this lineup.

the only problem is that there's not nearly enough of yous. ronnie deserves
bigger and better.

Don't know why folks are dogging on Bernard, he sounded great to me from those clips...

Nothing against him really, just not my cup of tea ... The reason I like Keith, Ronnie, Dylan (even Tom Waits, Cohen etc.) is my vocal style preference. I don't like Bernard's vocals at all - its one of my main complaints for years - give me my Stones, with Keith, Ronnie, even Bobby Keyes ... but I want to see/hear the Stones, not some other vocals/horns/sax of friends of theirs that they pull out of vegas shows.

If I went to see Ronnie live and Bernard sang most of the songs, I'd be extremely pissed, sorry.

I don't think thet were sold out completely - only 400 seats per show . Outside of the hardcore fan base, there isn't much demand for a Ron Wood show unfortunately.
He had to cancel Faces shows in Germany last year . A shame that he dosen't get the credit /fan base he deserves.

I've heard better singers at the local pub. On a Tuesday. In the kitchen.

Drew

If you're referring to Bernard, I would have to agree.
He's best relegated to being a back-up vocalist.

Let me know where your local pub is!

BF is one hell of a vocalist. Absolutely great performer too.

And, above all, is just perfect with Wood.

So:

Ronnie: has recorded, has been playing live and is ready to go
Charlie: has played live a lot
Mick: always active
Bill W: "they called me..."
Mick T.: Will be playing in NYC during the time some others will be there as well...
Keith: ???

What are the odds for a new recording, or new Tour...?

I'd loved to have been to that show! Muscular, funky playing.
Ronnie's in good shape and the rhythm section is just great!
I even like Steve Jordans drumming here much better than with the Winos.
