There was a John Lennon commemorative crown (£5 is what it says on it, which is odd as 2/6 old money was half a crown? Bet Deltics can explain.) in the 'Great Britons' series in 2010.

It's a lovely thing.

Nothing to stop UK residents on list writing to the Royal Mint suggesting a (series of) Rolling Stones commemorative coins, or to The Post Office suggesting commemorative stamps.

OK, the design is a bit disappointing.

I mean, the word Queen, with some generic instruments...that's it?

What about the band itself? 4 coins, one with each band member and one with the band in a stage shot, or the iconic shot from Bohemian Rhapsody?

It has the red special and crest on it.

From an investment point of view, overpriced commemorative coins are a big waste. Even from a coin collector view, they are not highly rated. Sure it would be great to have four - or seven - coins with Stones members, but then they should be on regular circulating coins, not on special coins costing 3x face value.

It is logical that as we spend most of our disposable income on the stones, that they are actually ON the money we are spending.
