There are two kinds of Stones fans, Mick Taylorites and Ronnie Woodies.
I am not even sure they are playing in tune. But it is what some people like, with the female singers, etc.

Bridges to Babylon Tour by far. The Mick Taylor solos ruin this one for me. Love him on most songs, but it pulls Gimme Shelter too far from the recorded version. I wanna hear Keith play the solo.

Personally, I prefer the live versions from Keith's solo albums era.

I have never heard this quality of guitar work from the Stones before or after in live concert. Reminds me of Eric Clapton's Layla. Is this the best or what? Charlie's drumming is really stand out on this.
This is terrific = just saw this last night in its entirety. YEAH BABY!Quote

The two best versions for me are both from 1969... The studio version and the Altamont version.
The sense of foreboding felt on the studio version is amplified x 100 on the Altamont live performance, served with an additional fat slab of raw!
Wow!

Wembley 9/9/73 tops it all, and the LA '7/13/75 version comes in second.
