The Twitter-verse is (rightly) losing its collective mind over this list...

Good lord, is that a jacked up list. I don't even know where to start. Is this real or an old April Fools joke? I didn't see it on their website. I mean Joe Cocker is listed as Joe ****er. I smell a rat.

Who cares? I mean who made the list and why is her, her or their opinion of any consequence to me?

Is Carl Wilson on there?

For some reason, it was trending like it had just been published. I have no idea why.

Right on, pwe

I make it a practice to ignore any list of pop vocalists in which Carl doesn’t appear.

Where are Carl Wilson, Jerry Butler, Teddy Pendergrass - Jim Morrison at 46 ?

I could go on and on - this is one of the worst lists I have ever seen.

no mariska veres from shocking blue. she had a great voice.

whitney houston, that womans voice could pierce steel.

no barry ryan who sang eloise exactly the way the damned did 20 years later.

bowie way down on the list.

no madonna, thank goodness.

i never take these surveys seriously. if another source done it, the results would be different.

didnt see donna summer either or candy staton.

Why is John Lennon in the top 5? I don't quite get why Dylan is in the Top 10, either, when there are people who could really sing far below, but he at least has a unique style that influenced other people.

So a list published by one of the biggest music magazines ever isn't worthy of casual discussion on a music message board?

Report it to Bjornulf then...he can delete it if he wants.

Lennon and McCartney ahead of Jagger again... but no George or Ringo? lol
And where's Jello Biafra and Joe Strummer? Or Lemmy? smiling smiley

These lists are silly.

Apparently the ability to sing wasn't relevant to be on the list.

If Nina Simone, Patsy Cline, and Merle Haggard are on the list, then it is clearly not an exclusively rock and roll list. That being the case, where is Frank Sinatra???

Dusty Springfield (35) should trade places with John Lennon.

Because both of them have really unique voices?

Rankings like this are always totally meaningless ...as is any attempt to rank a bunch of uniquely different things.
It's all purely down to taste and personal opinion.
If the results are arrived at via a poll, then at best its a popularity contest.

I might rank Ginger nuts as the number one biscuit/cookie ...the next guy will think Custard Creams are far better . Who will be the final arbiter ?

Where's Brad Delph?

Dylan and Neil Young have no business being on there.

Gregg Allman and Karen Carpenter are underrated - as are many others.

7 of the Top 10 are really soul singers (great voices, though).

Glad they recognized Frankie Valli.

Again, I don't know why this list became the talk of Twitter for several hours yesterday even though it's nine years old.

its subjective, the lennon v jagger debate is pointless, both have great but different voices that either fit or dont fit on various songs.

same can be said of almost anyone.

the survey suggests that it is a popularity comp as most are.
