He has a new song out coming out sometime next month as well with former GNR drummer Matt Sorum. You can't make this GNR land stuff up. Axl, Slash and Duff finally get back together to play their first shows together in 23 years, Izzy, Steven and Matt Sorum are NOT included, BUT Izzy puts out his first songs in like 5 years, one of which has the help of one Mr. Matt Sorum. Unbelievable.

izzy has played with axl and duff and I believe slash over the last 15 years. he simply isn't a big tour guy and that's part of the reason he left the band to begin with. as far as I know he has an open invite to walk up on stage and play with GNR whenever he wants to and that's been the case at least the last 10 years.

Just yesterday I listened to Izzy's 1992 album "Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds".

Ronnie's guitar during the solo at the end of "Take a look at the guy" sounds almost as it was when he was with Rod and the Faces.
Great stuff. Alas, he didn't sound like this very often in the Stones.

Up until this tour. He publicly tweeted (had to start a friggen Twitter to set the record straight) that he had nothing to do with this tour and was not asking to participate. Yes, he has played with all 3 of them in the last 10 years. Seemingly having an open invite, but he was specifically kept out of this thing. He has said as much. Not trying to start anything, but just clearing that up.

I started listening to it again when the Izzy vs. GNR twitter battle started up in the spring and I cannot get over how good it is from front-to-back.

maybe its memories he doesn't want to have come back if he was up there with all 3 like that

I remember hearing a rumor years ago,
that Izzy is actually Keith s illegitimate son!

Love the Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds album.

When first I met Jimmy Ashhurst who played bass for the hounds, I asked him when he worked with Woody. Because i heard he had. He replied "Woody, I just talked to him on the phone ten days ago." He them told me all about the album and If I remember correctly he said they did other songs with him as well but all unreleased stuff.

Jimmy knows all of the Faces stuff and can play it and when he met Ian McLagan, Ian had not ran into anyone at the time that was young and knew the whole catalog and invited Jimmy to join the bump band for a short period of time. Jimmy co-wrote Shuffle It All with Izzy Stradlin and you can hear the melodic approach Jimmy used on bass while writing that song.

I love that bass line - to die for. The whole record is fantastic . Izzy should of got Keith to sing on the chorus or play on the record. Ron Wood played on one song.

I always loved that Shufflin' Dice from Izzy when I was a teenager, hadn't heard it a few decades - but it sounds great for sure (although more than a little derivative)

On Somebody Knockin - Marc Ford plays the solo and is uncredited. I knew that guitar tone sounded familiar.

Amazing when you think that he was behind most of the riffs of Appetite and much of the material on UIY. Guess it shows that having great ideas is not enough to write good songs.

I can remember at least 10 solo songs from the albums he did prior to 2005
