Yes, it's a really cool cover and maybe it should have been on IORR

Didn't Rod Stewart release a version after hearing the Stones this. So it was then consigned to the vaults.

Rod's version is reggae-ish.

It's good but they chose correctly with Ain't Too Proud To Beg

With the Dobie Grey version being ingrained in my head as a 10 yr. old in '73, and not hearing the Stones version until much later, have to say there's no comparison.
Dobie's is great in every way, while the Stones version is lazy and all around crappy. Had I never heard Dobie's version I might think otherwise, but as it stands can't even listen to the Stones version.

I like Dobie's, Rod's, and The Stones' - however, the Stones version does have a slower, druggy feel to it.

Not their best moment of that era. I think a different take, done slightly more upbeat, might have had potential. Something closer to "Shine A Light" in feel, could have, would have, should have, worked well.

Very nice song and a great version and, just like Cops and Robbers many years earlier, a missed chance to put a good song on an official album.
Never mind.

Agree, I love the Drift Away cover, but definitely prefer it not be included if it would have been at the cost of losing Ain't Too Proud To Beg .

Perhaps the worst version of this song that I have ever heard.
Should remain in the vaults forever.

I like Keith’s guitar on this track – not something he’d typically play. But this is not a song the Stones should be covering. And apparently nobody but Keith wanted to cover it…

Wasn`t it released on a Deluxe release?
I have it on Bootleg.
Surely not a classic, but not so bad, compared with some later Stones Songs I think.
