I have a question to all "die Hard" collectors. Was this withdrawn UK-Single ever available at record stores?

Greetings Raluca

Yes if I'm not mistaken these tracks were on " Got Live If You Want It" early live album

No it wasn't. But they both appeared on a Decca compilation LP called "Saturday Club" in their original single mixes only few months later. They do sound great.

These are the 'holy grail' for collectors. No actual retail release. Test pressings I believe and MAYBE a promo, but probably not even that.

Does Bill mention this withdrawn single in any of his books? How do we know it was supposed to be a single?

i don't recall offhand if Bill wrote about it - probably! ALO probably did as well. but anyway it's part of the historical record
that this pair of tracks was recorded and ready to go before they decided it wasn't what they wanted for their second single
you can read at least a bit about it here: [www.timeisonourside.com]

You're probably right. According to Roy Carrs "An illustrated record", it was assigned a catalogue number, F 11742, with Poison Ivy as the intended A-side. I seem to recall that I have read somewhere that it was released in Australia, but I cannot find any confirmation of this anywhere on the internet, so it's probably not true ?

That was my information as well - mail-order only but I can't remember where I read/heard about it, maybe Record Collector?

That's the closest I ever got - I have it framed behind glass so excuse the bad quality:

I'd love to have one, sssoul winking smiley

Never came behind how imageshack really works - I always end up with blown up thumb-nails or big images like the one above...

Go over to the collectors cafe at Stones Vikings. There is a thread on Decca 7s, and this one is discussed. Very enlightening.
