Donnie Fritts passed away in his sleep last night. I didn't know him on a personal level, but as we lived in the same town I often saw him play locally, or ordering muffins at the local coffee shop (one of his favorite morning rituals it seemed). He was well loved, wrote songs you all probably know, toured for years with Kris Kristofferson.

He co-wrote "We Had It All"

Also appears (with Kristofferson) in Sam Peckinpah's Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia.

He scheduled "Muscle Shoals & Nashville Connection" in Tokyo in April with Rob Galbraith, Chester Thompson, Andreas Werner and Luke Easterling.
But the show was cancelled due to his health condition.
