Unusual countries, Mickey C grinning smiley ...

Iceland indeed, and Greenland (before it's sold to the USA grinning smiley), Korea (don't think they will ever), Costa Rica would indeed be fantastic. Jamaica (ask Keith ...), Saoudi Arabia (they did Abu Dhabi after all), Taiwan, Kazachstan, and yes Ecuador would indeed be nice too. But hey, you have to considerate to BV, there is a limit to everything winking smiley

If they do return to South Africa it would most likely be one show in Johannesburg and one in Cape Town.

I just did a trip to Cape Town, SA. It was amazing! They have a big football stadium would be perfect for Stones.

Sorry but those days are over. I mean Istanbul, Luxenbourg and so on. Now they want to reach out to 50,000+ which means Düsseldorf, Berlin, München in Germany, then Paris France, Madrid or Barcelona Spain and so on. Then of course London, NYC, LA and CHI are always on their to-do list.

In a likely Far East+Oceania Tour in early 2020...A couple of show in South Africa with an audience of 50,000+ make sense

South Africa's economy's in the toilet. As the band probably likes to get paid in USD that's a huge gap to fill for promoters as the Rand's very low.

I think they'll harvest a safe market like Japan (and s-Korea too?) instead...

I think with the tour ending in Miami that South America would be the next direction.

IMO they have played all the places to play, and way more. To add new countries would probably be only for their own amusement, and to check something off a list. Why go set up in some remote corner play big hits ?
The one show with real impact was Havana.

The number of times they went for Newark or Rutherford actually makes NYC an unusual location

Nowhere big enough for them to play there unless they ever do another arena tour, which they haven't for 6 years.

Good point. When viewing the late era tour itineraries, one can easily see that there was much thought put into the actual venue around key cities. To maximize accessability from surrounding markets, and cram as much bang for the buck into a few days. Set up in a stadium with massive parking, and check New Jersey, NYC, Syracuse, Providence. Or set up in the desert for 3 daYS out west and basically do LA, Vegas, Reno, Oakland.
Not much character to those shows; efficient.

That's what they should do... Even though they ended up adding a Brooklyn show in 2012, it came off awkward announcing their big return would be London and... Newark, New Jersey

Which is a shame.
Musicians like Dylan and Springsteen mix big and small venues. Many others too.
If it's based on economies of scale, then just reduce the overheads. Have a tour crew of 300 instead of 500 plus.

You have a good point there Nate. Miami is a port city so I guess it could go anywhere but I think they have their eyes on Brazil and Argentina again.
