Some things I found interesting:

• Andy Johns engineered the first It's Only Rock N Roll sessions in Germany, and Keith Harwood did the rest. Johns goes song by song with analysis, so it's cool to see what was recorded with/without him. So Nico can update his site.

• "Short And Curlies" was first done in Jamaica (I'm sure some of you know that), and Johns absolutely hates it.

• Apparently, he thinks "Dance Little Sister" is trash as well. The interviewer doesn't like Taylor's guitar work on that number.

• There is a lot of Led Zep info too if you're a fan.

• If you're and engineer you will absolutely GEEK out on this interview.

Yeah, I meant the engineering details. Andy Johns was only involved in the first session then Harwood took over according to that interview.

I don't get the hate for Short and Curlies. Great rolling rhythm, perfect MJ/KR harmony vocals. Kind of repetitive and hypnotic, I think it's great.

He did. He also took credit for putting Mick in his place for wanting to overdub other instruments. I like Andy's work a great deal as both an engineer and a producer, but he does often seem like he has a chip on his shoulder.

No that's Andy's brother, Glyn.
Glyn has always been straight as an arrow while Andy adopted the "lifetyle" of Keith and Jimmy Miller around the time of the Nellcote sessions.
Some Stones insiders wonder if Andy's drug encouraged him to make outrageous statements like : "MT's leaving the Stones was my revenge against the band for mistreating me" or sth like that...
