We wrote some of the songs for Let It Bleed in) Positano, south of Naples in (Italy). We'd been there before. We knew the place vaguely and someone offered us their house there. It was empty, barren, very cold. Huge fires and we just sat and wrote. Did Midnight Rambler there, Monkey Man and some others.

That Monkey Man Demo is bogus.

It's a voodoo lounge tour version recorded from a speaker with a crappy mic to give it a rough sound.

Even with the cruddy quality it's clearly Daryl on Bass, clearly Charlies 1994-1995 snare sound, Clearly Keiths 1994-1995 tone.

Bootleggers will try anything.

I'm from Salerno (over 150000 people)...Positano is 35 miles far from Salerno on the Amalfi Coast in the Salerno county and it is a charming and magic little town on the sea...The Stones has written MR,MM and LWM in Positano in early '69.

I knew about Midnight Rambler and Monkey Man, but not about Live With Me. Great to know that three of the greatest rock songs ever have been written so close to our respective hometowns, Mailexile!!

Saw a UK MORE 4 documentary last night on the Amalfi coast.
Positano featured quite a bit. The whole area looks lovely....on my bucket list.
Apparantly Sophia Loren had/has a place in Positano.
No mention of the Midnight Ramblers brief time there, however.

I spent a whole summer once in Positano (up and down those stairs!). When I was still in Rome, and my dad took a bunch of me and my sisters down there. I was in the very early days of my Stones-ness, and had somehow managed to acquire "Ya-Ta's". At that point I had not ever heard the actual songs. But the titles sounded So F*CKIN exciting! A month learning that cover artwork by heart, and pining for the day that we would leave and I would be around a record player.

yes it is odd that they post pictures that are supposedly from the same 3 nights, and Jagger's hair length varies.
I had never seen the later picture; the one with Warhol. I am suprised they got Warhol into the bright sunlight.
