Indeed Milan started selling official merchandise early in the 80's, and as far as I remember (first football games I saw at the stadium were in 78) unofficial shirts, scarfs and cushions were available everywhere. But I am positive that the one Charlie was wearing is not a reproduction of an early Milan shirt. Save the very first years, the first shirt with the team badge was made in 81, and in any case the badge is on the right side, never in the center.
It not a "scudetto" either, because also the "scudetti" were placed on the right side.
My guess is it could have been the shirt of an English team (red and black striped shirts where and are common second kits, i.e. Man City these days), but my encyclopedic knowledge of football matters has some gray areas when dealing with English away kits in the 70s ...
