The Logo
The handwriting of the Rolling Stones Archive logo belongs to founder member of the band, Ian “Stu” Stewart. He became their tour manager in 1963, and played piano on every studio album between 1964 and 1983, with the exception of Beggars Banquet. Stu was adored and respected by the Rolling Stones right until his sudden and young death, at the age of 47, in 1985. When the Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame four years later, they requested Stu’s name be included in their citation.
Stu’s handwriting is found throughout the archive because he meticulously detailed every track on every recording while he was alive.

Means a big work for them. First they have to find some empty cardboard boxes. Then they have to grease them up ever so slightly. Then walk all the way to a bookstore, buy a black market pen, decorate them boxes, while making sure they get the dates right this time. Exhausting.....lunchbreak for the rest of the day at their office
Next working day...make photographs of the new boxes, and throw away the "Rolling Stones 2-8-73" box, while hoping not too many of us noticed that hoax

@His Majesty
I thought it was nice to use Ian Stewart's handwriting as he's the one who took care of Stones recordings. Archiving this kind of stuff is quite a job.
No need for the negative remarks IMO.

Stu was the first person recruited by Brian Jones. He was the second Stone. Of course he's a founding member

Actually, Brian had already found some musicians(Geoff Bradford, the pianist who played like Count Basie etc) before Stu came on the scene and replied to Brian's advert.
Regardless, it says he is founder member(like Keith does in Life), not a founding member. There is a difference.

face palm 2: Stu didn't play on Their Satanic Majesties Request either.
Stu probably did play organ on "In Another Land"

Nico's Complete Works site listed Stu as organ player and Nicky as harpsichord player on that track but ofcourse that could be wrong information.
