Ah, yes, the new single .... IMO it is a little bit boring, no hook, no bridge ... "Do you think I really care" is, IMO, the much better song. Wonder why they choose this one as a single ?!?!?

I'm pretty sure it's Del Rio, which according to Google maps, is east of Marfa on Route 90.

I don't think Vista is right either, it sounds to me like Vinson, which is further east again in Oklahoma, but doesn't really fit into a logical journey? I suppose it doesn't have to be logical, unless they were trying to re-write Route 66 !

Love the new-and-improved lyrics on this one, so evocative of the American west and the joy of hitting the road. And as with so many of the SG Deluxe tracks, it's got that lovely country twang. I'll take it.

When we first had the chance to hear the new No Spare Parts ( [www.iorr.org] ) we reckoned it was Amarillo he got lost in... There's a proper journey in that part of the song that you should be able to follow on a map.

Like the vocals better on the old version.

at the first listening i didn´t like it too much, but it grew on me...now i consider it a very nice song, and a very enjoyable listening....

I don't think they put as much thought and effort in to the 2011 Some Girls project as they did Exile. There are stronger bonus cuts, like So Young.

Prefer the bootleg versions of both No Spare Parts & You Win Again.

the film world has road movies but this is a road-song

The song was stronger when it was a weak, semi-impromptu/written-on-the-fly studio outtake. The song's shortcomings are amplified after Mick filled in the holes, recut the vocals and "finished" the song.

Never was too impressed with the outtake, and not too impressed with the finished version, either. A weak song is a weak song.
