Hi,
My name is Gary Dzidzornu Stewart

My Dad was Rocki (Dijon, as Keith named him) Dzidzornu.

Dad died March 13th 1993. He was living in Oakland California. He was Ghanaian, Not from Senegal smiling smiley

I too wish he was back amongst us. I'm lucky though I get to hear him everyday.

I'm very touched by your kind thoughts about him. You have made me feel very proud today. Thank you.
Gary.

Wow, his son posted on here. That's pretty great. Shame that he died so young. What a wonderful musician he was. Great post Gary.

Did any of the Stones or the corporation ever reach out to your father after his time with them or your family when he passed?

Gary, I'm sorry to hear your Dad is gone. He was a great musician and a great contributor to the Stones sound. I could listen to his intro to Sympathy forever... Btw, was his name really Rocki? I thought it was Kwasi...

Yes, his real name was Kwasi.
In answer to your question did the Stones reach out to the family! then No, they didn't. They never reached out to my dad. Paid a session fee for his contribution to the songs then nothing!

Thanks for the response. Congrats on the 6-1 by the way. Hopefully this time, a cheat like Suarez doesn't get in the way of you getting to the semis.

And yes, Rocky has a story to tell. His autobiography, "Can You Hear the Music?" which someone very, very close to him is helping him assemble is coming soon to a vanity press near you.

...I suppose this never saw (or hasn't yet seen...!?) the light of day?!

Ohhh Wick, come on man, Suarez was defending HIS team. He was penalized by his action, was suspended for the next game, and this is football...

Er ... I would've thought it was pretty clear that the original poster was joking about that part.

Thank you for posting, Gary. Your father's work is a shining piece of forever.

Varilla, I'm calling him a cheat for his other behavior, not that hand ball. For that, I actually agree that he paid the price, but he is a racist cheat and I meant that I hope no one gets in the way not that he was a cheat on that occasion. He's just a cheat in general.

Here's a good excuse to bump this old thread with respects to Mr. Dijon (Dzizornu).

so the quote from his son is lifted right from this thread

someone really should write a book about him or at least a much longer and better researched article he deserves that much

Yeah, so I looked up Rocky on Wikipedia and it actually referenced this thread as one of the sources, using the quote from his son. . . . . and that's how I found it in the vaults Rockman.
