Jones was also losing the one thing he could fall back on if all else failed. “Before the Circus, as I recall, he’d gone to North Africa to do some recording with the Joujouka tribe,” adds Lindsay-Hogg. “While he was there, he slipped on a rock or something and broke his wrist.

My recollection is that he damaged his wrist/hand hitting Anita? Or am I confusing different incidents of abuse?

It was two different occasions. He broke his wrist in 1966 and recorded the Pipes of Pan in 1968.
