As with music...a bit of luck is required to go along with the talent if you are to be successful ...and Ronnie has enough artistic talent to have succeeded, given that little bit of luck .
So true. And Ronnie has been blessed with a lot of good luck.
But I do believe we can nudge our own good luck along at times. He has been so clever with his timing and friends. And of course he has worked hard. It's probably been a riot most of the way; but he stayed on the road for what? the first 15 years straight? And squeezed a few solo albums in there too.
Horrible, horrible, horrible! Good luck to those buying it...

The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has unveiled a series of new paintings, including a Picasso-inspired picture that honours his band.
Entitled ‘Abstract Stones’, which you can view below, the painting is one of five different works of art Wood is selling online as hand-signed prints from tomorrow (April 26).
I call it The Picasso Stones. It’s my interpretation of Picasso’s painting The Three Dancers,” Wood said. “Looking at the original, I was inspired to do my own take featuring the boys. I did a few versions and each one was slightly different and more honed than the last.
“I had great fun doing it. Picasso did his own take on a lot of artists but I bet he never thought no one would ever do a take on him. I hope and think he’d be flattered, but also a bit shocked and pleasantly surprised at my take on his work.”
Wood has also painted a set of his own personal interpretations of classic Stones tour posters: Bridges to Babylon, Urban Jungle and Voodoo Lounge. For more information, head to Ronnie Wood’s official site here.

Lol...only millions of beginning painting students who are assigned to do this in beginning painting classes.
I even had a professor way back when who had an entire show based on his "take" on Picasso.
Ronnie should hone his skills and stick with his own style, whatever that is.

I'm just not sure about Keith's right arm doubling as Mick's todger.
I;m with Duke on this - I usually want to like Ron Wood's paintings. Love his dedication; and he is a working painter, yes. I don't think he would get the recognition on the strength of paintings alone, w/o his rockn roll pedigree.
Anyone should have the freedom to pursue their love in the arts, but there is a finite space of recognition and attention that painters in the world can ask for. And IMO he is using space that should go to controversial, brilliant, BROKE artists.

To be fair to Ronnie though: He has a certain amount of talent. He can draw to begin with. There are many celebrities that dabbles with art without even knowing the basics.
They often do abstract paintings since they can't draw, (or paint), at all. People actually buy those paintings (or whatever you call it) because they are celebrities.
At least Ronnie is one step above that...

I like Ronnie's work more than Dylan and Mccartney for what it's worth. At first I didn't care for this picture but its slowly growing on me.

I think some folks underestimate Ronnie a little as an artist.
Were he not an otherwise famous celebrity his art would still have been more than good enough to find its way into galleries and make him a decent living.

He's got a lot of talent. It's the imagination dept. that's lacking a bit.
I was just looking at the painting under discussion here, and I notice, if it weren't for the 'Jagger' IMO it would be a good deal better.

I think Ronnie is demeaning his own work by "dabbling" in so many styles. Artists have "their own" style or signature look I think. I don't think Picasso himself would paint like Monet, or Monet like daVinci, or daVinci like...Ronnie etc.
Stick to your own style Ronnie. Stop cloning others'. Be sure of YOURSELF, man.
