Lovely track. Mick is really outstanding on this one. Very nice, melodically built-up chorus. Great rhythm changes toward the ending. Love it!

Back then I dismissed it as another Chuck Berryish throwaway, off maybe their worst album (excluding the brilliant UCOTN). But it was fun to hear on the Bigger Bang tour.

OK song on an OK album.

Rockn'Roll roots (Chuck Berry roots) + Rolling Stones signature (notice Let's Spend the Night Together accents) + heavy studio work (flourished "Las Vegas" style).
Sophisticated arrangement, multi instruments. In my opinion, at the expense of genuineness and rawness (trademark of the original sound of the Rolling Stones).
Nice to hear, funny to watch on the video. A pleasant and minor piece, typical of the "Vegas" shift.

What's the "heavy studio work"? They used the same analogue delay pedals live, too, at this time. It's not studio work, it's just slap-back delay.

The live versions don't do the studio track justice, though. Live, it becomes too much of a Berry-number. The genius with this song is within the choruses, imo.

Fantastic track, fantastic vocals by Mick, great piano by Stu. Love this track, one of the last classics.

Ohhhhh yeah; this is the Stones in all the full-throttle, rock-and-roll glory of their late 70’s/early 80’s renaissance. It starts out with that superb chain-saw guitar riff … awww man does that sound sweet?!!!! Then Charlie drops in, right on cue, along with Ian Stewart’s superb honky-tonk piano. And then Jagger, in his best Memphis drawl, transports us to a cold and rainy New York night where he is willingly raped by a woman whose sexual incandescence knows no limits.

The scenery changes … to Detroit and Chicago … but the red-hot sonic propulsion never lets up. And that throbbing, pulsating bass line, rippling just under the surface, is what really gives this track its juice.

Ultimately, She Was Hot is an ode to the magical power of hot carnal sex to transform the monotonous tedium of everyday life into something electric and unforgettable.

Wonderful stuff.

Love this song!

One of my favourites and I'm glad it appeared on "Grrr!" so the masses could discover it.
It is one of those rare instances were the 80's prroduction works in favour of the track. I like that 'wobbling' bass sound and the reverb throughout.
The shifting in the rhythm towards the end, is also a nice addition.

I'm sure both Keith and Charlie struggled hard and attended acting lessons to make that video ;-)

A good song through and through. I'm glad the band have dusted it off of the shelves and actually started to play it in concert.

Loved this from the moment I heard it and hoped to one day hear it live. It took a while but I got my wish.

It's nice to see that someone else appreciates that!

This song has been dismissed as a standard Berry-rocker so many times on this board.

I never regarded it a Berry-ish tune before I started posting here...

Never heard the Extended Version before. They played it in Paris in 2007 and despite a few, erm, hiccups during the rest of the show I thought it was good.
