"I'd like to thank everybody who gives a shit"

There is nothing awful about it, just a little out of place. It's not what you want to hear from a 68 years old man. This isn't a random interview at the entrance to the hotel on the way to the studio, it's a specially prepared address to the fans and every word is thought through. He thinks that such a language is expected of him. Makes you feel uneasy.
On the other hand there are those who say that Jagger's stage behavior does not match his age, and they cringe watching him. But he has to continue his act, because that's what's expected of him.
They are both hostages of their image, scenic or real life

His Majesty, obviously I hope that your funeral will be later rather than sooner. And since your taste in selecting "Drifting" is magnificent, you have risen considerably in my estimation. I'll dress very nicely and carry my IORR T-shirt in my handbag.

ProudMary, ever since withsssoul refered to me as "cranky," I've been in a very up mood. I love that word and it sometimes is quite accurate since I have an 8 pain level due to flawed back surgery. Music is essential to my recovery.

Keith says what he wants. Mick does what he wants. We should all be so lucky.

I thought they were a riot - that's why I posted them...it shows he has a sense of humor about himself. And I'm sorry, I guess I missed the supreme court ruling on guys in their 60s not to able to use profanity. SHIT!
It's Keith Richards - not our President drinking smiley

I can relate to the back pain, although not as severe, I've been out of work due to neck, shoulder and back problems since summer 2010 which also ties in with me becoming more cranky. grinning smiley

The only thing I don't like about it is that it sounds like an epitaph. Given
Keith's sense of humor, maybe that's how he meant it. Maybe that's why he got
such a good laugh out of it. At the expense of worrywarts like me.

Has it occured to anyone WHY Keith done that video - message!? Is it possible he's on to the bad vibe out there in regards he's lack of ability to play the guitar!? Also, what's the go with the funny looking false teeth!?

He looks great.

At this point Jagger could cast himself and Keith in a remake of Trading Places, where they play the two elderly callous billionaires.

Chris Rock could reprise the Eddie Murphy role.

Charlie, Woody, Taylor and Wyman can get cameos and steal the show.

There's your 50th Anniversary immortalized on the silver screen.

As a movie buff, I find this casting a bit unbalanced. Somehow, I can't quite see Keith plotting to corner the market on FCOJ - Mick on the other hand, might be able to pull it off - after all he was at the London School of Economics. I think Colman should be played by Phil Spector - now that would be a trip. Cheers. smoking smiley

Another option -- IF they play Las Vegas again, I see it as The Rolling Stones in the ultimate version of "Oceans 11"

Too bad Sammy Davis Jr. in his prime isn't still here. I see his performance as Keith Richards as a tour de force.

It's OK with me if Chris Rock is also involved. Possibly as the longtime loyal roadie who has had enough! But EDDIE MURPHY must also play a major role.

The clip really gives a great insight into Keith's abilities. It's all still there...but buried deep under the "rust" (as we've now labeled it). This clip is miles better than what we've seen and heard from the actual show. It gives me hope that Keith isn't that far gone as we thought...

ha! Obviously Mick Taylor back there, c'mon!

What's interesting in this video is that we can hear Keith's guitar as clear as a bell. Besides the main riff, he's adding some subtle fills all over the song.
Most of these fills were no doubt lost on the audiene-shot clips we got earlier from the actual show especially with the crowd noise taking over most of the sound. It was easy to judge Keith the way we did from those awful clips...but it would only be fair to revise our judgement especially after viewing this new clip.

Yes indeed adrewt, whoever (Jane Rose?) decided to capture some moments of the rehearsal was wise to do so. We see a very relaxed Keith enjoying himself and not worried about "performing." It's amazing how much Keith's playing changes when he's in front of a crowd lately...either it be nerves or just hamming/posing it up...he seems to play better when no one is "looking", so to speak.

Thank you Justin. I was actually more "worried" about the Spoonful than the Little Red Rooster and this confirms my first opinion.

I like the minimalistic arrangement, very earthy. Reminds me of Keith's take of "You Win Again" on the Hank tribute, as well as some of the arrangements on Marsha Hansen's CD.

er - hallelujah! That's a beautiful five minutes.

The actual performance is taken quite a bit slower than this rehearsal, for some reason.

Got the same thoughts, finaly after 50 years of rock'n'roll, Keith is now a respectable blues singer !!!

Watch out, little red rooster's on the prowl!

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away
