At least, make it OT. And what's the point with all these RIP:s? If you have something to say, say it.

I´ve heard, that the Almighty is very nervous,
because he´s unsure what to wear.

Should be OT but Mick did once talk to him.

You mean the Almighty or Karl?

Actually, whenever I saw photos of him I thought he resembled a character out of the TV series Thunderbirds.

For Stoneage, who insists on ‘Sir Mick’. Copied from the New Yorker mag:

Lagerfeld was scheduled to attend a dinner party at eight but declined to say where. “I hate name-dropping,” he said. Asked if the host was someone famous, he pursed his lips and muttered, “I am not knowing so many unknown people, hmm?” Indeed, he calls Mick Jagger “Micky.”

P.S.
did not know Lagerfeld designed photo shoot/ clothes for
Goddess In Doorway
In fact, the pinning of the shirt in the back is haphazardly placed.
I assumed L’wren looking for a better silhouette.
The jeans and boots tho... nice.
RIP Karl

I once went to an exhibition on his life. It changed my mind on him, I think of him as a genius, too. A very creative one, extremely well-read, creative and inspiring to a lot of people. I put him alongside Warhol and Bowie.

I remember a video snipped from the GITD photo shoot where you could see KL snapping a way at Mick, possibly with some kind of remote.

Anyway RIP KL, what a character he was !

I walked past by him a few times in Paris : he was very tall very thin and he had that German commanding presence.
And I had the "privilege" to visit his studio/library at the 7 rue de Lille (one morning when the master hadn't arrived yet). The (huge) place is insane : it's about the size of a tennis court, about 7m in height, and the walls are covered in books up to the ceiling. I'd say 5000 books, about fashion, photography arts, cooking you name it.
Walking through the place felt like travelling through Lagerfeld's mind. And right in the middle of this studio there was a working (!) photo booth from the 70's!

I have no interest whatsoever in fashion but you can't help feel a giant has gone today.

I feel sorry for the passing of Karl, although I didn't know him , as well as the other +150,000 people who also died today.

Death comes to all of us one day, to the rich and the poor and the bad and the good, but it's gonna happen to us all one day.

Karl introduced Mick to L'Wren, after Goddess in the Doorway was released.

It's not OT -- he did the cover for GODDESS IN THE DOORWAY.

Ah, so Jerry Hall IS the goddess in the doorway.
Probably the doorway between the neighbors house he moved into and her side
LOL!

Really simplistic perspective. Guys (designers) like Lagerfeld and what he mainly worked on (clothes), the colors he used, textures, photos he presented, music he curated for his shows, the stage sets, the height and shape of a heel on a woman’s pump, etc all filter down to mass appeal ....but not just cheaper clothes, which is again just the obvious....but to everyday items too like color palettes for cars, nap sacks, socks, the colors you paint your walls, the colors of your dishes, etc etc etc. then there’s the actual longer view of his place in history....and empowering women to dress and look a certain way. He was dominant for 40/50 years.

For some reason the first thing I thought of when I heard he died was that Mick impression on SNL.”Donatella you look like a bloated gecko in that dress, you should read my new book 3D-Decadence,Diet and Dick...Dick Anderson my nutritionist.”

I would go as far and say that Lagerfeld did a lot for women and the equality of men and women, as he designed clothes that were anti-sexiest and...my English is not good enough to describe what I want to say, sorry.

Simplistic? maybe, but you are a little overboard, no? He figured out a way to make a great living designing clothing and the like. You could say, I guess, he was an artist. But empowering women is a bit much. And the funny thing is he always wore the worst looking shit himself.
