Where do people get this kind of...inspiration to come up with such crap?

According to Josh Board, "Van Hamersveld did the cover to the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street. And it was his Grinning Johnny image that inspired the Stones’ famous tongue logo."

The story behind the Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street album artwork
By Louder November 20, 2016

The recording of Exile On Main Street was a seedy affair. Laid down in the
basement of Keith Richards’ Nellcôte mansion on the Côte d’Azur in France, as
vast quantities of heroin and a succession of opiated hangers-on blew through
the premises, the 1972 classic album caught the Stones at their hedonist best.

It’s fitting then, that the sleeve explored similar themes of self-abuse and
chaos. “The general tone of the time was one of anarchy,” designer John Van
Hamersveld explains. “Drug dealers and freaks and crazy people left over from
the 60s – all defiant and distorted.”

Hamersveld had spent the previous decade in high demand as a pop artist, his
most famous work undoubtedly the poster he contributed to the 1966 surf
documentary The Endless Summer. More significantly for Rolling Stones fans, he
also created the ‘Grinning Johnny’ image that is said to have inspired the
band’s iconic tongue logo. The designer was already working on a project with
the Stones in Los Angeles when he and noted Swiss photographer Robert Frank
were signed up as the creative team for their next album.

"... inspired the Stones' famous logo."
Well, somehow the logo still inspires people to give themselves a fake status. "Inspired" is here not as bad as previous claimes of "designed", but still a big joke.

I only see one person grinning on the cover - the guy to the left in the far left pic in the middle row.

But somehow I doubt that's him... spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

So this billboard is supposed to represent the five band members, according to and courtesy of John Van Hamersveld...

"Van Hamersveld also designed the Sunset Strip billboard for Exile, using four Robert Frank “freak show” images depicting five figures,
each signifying a specific member of the band, including “Three Ball Charlie” for drummer Charlie Watts.
“So that was in a sense interpreting those five different personalities," he says, referring to Jagger, Richards, Watts, Taylor and bassist Bill Wyman."

So I will politely ask...
Who is Who?!
