I'm sure this has been discussed before but why did they speed up the audio for the MTV video promo? Seemed very odd at the time...

They also included an extra verse (...pick up the telephone...).

my guess is that they wanted it to fit into a certain time frame, maybe that was necessary at the time for more tv time, mtv, vh1, etc.

I had never noticed that before (the speed or the additional verse). Listening to both side by side it's an interesting choice. I think maybe the faster pace worked better for a video and the extra verse perhaps made for a better story line?

A decent number, but honestly I thought the video was dated already then. Some kind of '50s pastiche sexism.
Then they went on to do "Sex Drive" a couple of years later. If anyone remembers?

"She Was Hot" was Julien Temple's homage to Frank Tashlin's The Girl Can't Help It with Jayne Mansfield. The dated sexism and Freudian symbolism come direct from Tashlin as much as the classy suits the band wore. [www.youtube.com]

Is it a triangle in HAVANA MOON during that amazing close-up? I thought Bernard had the triangle, but I could be mistaken. My mind does tend to whirl when you see a master musician in the spotlight like that.

I recall two different audio endings to this video -- one had "Off The Hook".

I also recall the live debut of this song on a *very* cold Chicago night!

"Off the Hook" was the proper video ending, but ABKCO wouldn't license it for VIDEO REWIND so they removed it and just went with phones literally ringing off the hook while Charlie leers at the camera as Anita Morris' pimp doing his best Buster Keaton answering phones without actually speaking.

They're jobbing out re-mixes for this one in hopes of attracting
