Keith and Peter Tosh: unrealesed album.

According to Victor Bockris' book ('KR:the biography'), in 1978 Keith recorded an unrealesed album with Peter Tosh and his band.
Does anyone know anything more about this project?!

Hmm, I read the 2nd (revised) edition (quite) a while ago but can't remember anything about an unreleased album with Peter Tosh. Does Bokris give some more details (I don't have my copy handy)?

I could well imagine some studio jams or even demos, but a fully produced lost album seems unlikely to me. But what do I know ... winking smiley

I think Peter Tosh was signed to Rolling Stones records for a bit; he recorded with Mick a cover of the Temptations "You Gotta Walk (Don't Look Back)", a live version of which, from SNL, appeared on the Best of Mick Jagger solo album.

I also think, from the Bokris book, that Peter Tosh stayed in a property of Keith's in Jamaica. Unfortunately, Tosh really trashed the place, even abjectly for Keith's standards, and was evicted from the property. Shortly, thereafter, Peter Tosh was persona non grata at Rolling Stones Records, and was dropped from the roster.

He only wrote "Keith recorded an unreleased album with Tosh and his band" without giving further details.

Keith also played some really nice snaky fills on couple of tracks from Peter's Bush Doctor album .

I suppose there may be all sorts in the can somewhere from around that time...but whether any of it might amount to an "unreleased album" is another matter entirely.

Bokris may be referring to the sessions that Keith did that were ultimately Black Uhuru tunes. It's pretty much the same band. I think he touched on these sessions in Life.
